My stomach has been not so happy with me the past few days. I talked to the OB about it because I didn't want to get dehydrated and wanted to see what they suggested. She suggested the BRAT diet for a week - bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. UGH! Well, I am 36 weeks along so I really want to make sure I get this taken care of before I go into labor!!
Has anyone else had belly issues/sickies while pregnant?

I have had several rounds of tummy troubles (I am 23 weeks), although mine usually correlate with work stress, but not always. Somtimes, I will eat the exact same thing for dinner 2 nights in a row, and the first night everything is fine, but I have problems after the second night, and is usually takes a day or two to get things back in order.

Yep! It eventually went away on its own though.

I read yesterday that the diet has been extended to BRATTY, including tea and yogurt. Might help you out.

@looch: thanks that might help. Still no better today. I wish I just wasn't pregnant so I didn't have to eat at all. (haha, I KNOW that's bad but I can think it!!!)

yeesh, this diet is the worst. also because i hate bananas. but i agree with PPs, doctor said yogurt and white grains were good! DH was sick recently and it helped a ton.

@sorrycharlie: yeah, i was told I could take something for it but I prefer to stay away from drugs even when I'm not pregnant. My only worry is yogurt sometimes makes this happen so, I may have to stay away from that. I don't mind bananas and applesauce, though. Hopefully I'll be able to kick it out of me this weekend since we don't have any plans and I can sit around and be miserable with myself all weekend.

@mediagirl: lol, totally understand. even though it's not in the brat diet...what about milk? maybe tmi, but if I don't drink enough water and only drink milk...I have the exact opposite of the brat-diet problem. HAHA. some people, though, it gives them the brat-diet problem.

@sorrycharlie: yeah, all that dairy stuff. I'm wondering if that brought it on since I started a new jug of skim milk on Monday. I'm staying away from all dairy for now...(even though it is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world!!)

What if you subbed in probiotics instead of the yogurt...no idea if those supplements are pregnancy safe, though. The yogurt in the diet is probiotic yogurt, which was also recommended to us when our son had his bout of tummy troubles earlier this year.

@mediagirl: Ugh, sorry you're feeling like this. I did well with toast and a little butter and jam. Bananas, applesauce, and rice were not appealing to me personally - a little too close to what they might look like coming out (sorry, kind of gross). I preferred whole apples. Sometimes I could handle soup or non-greasy hash browns.
