My LO was breech from about 28 weeks on...she didn't flip and I ended up with a c section - which ended up being a blessing because the cord was wrapped around her neck twice!

My LO was breech the entire time and never turned. I, too had a great c-section experience. Hope your LO flips for you!

@grizz: My LO flipped to breech at 35ish weeks. It did hurt because he would stand on my pelvis and push as hard as he could on my ribs with his head. It was also really difficult to breathe at times because he would be pushing so hard on my diaphragm. He never flipped back, but I never really think he was nicely positioned head down before he fully flipped, so that's probably why he was breech..

I wouldn't put too much stock into it at 31 weeks, but I might be considering some of the positions on spinningbabies.com and hanging out in a pool if you have one available to help persuade him to turn. The larger he grows, the harder it is for them to flip back.

@grizz: My baby flipped to breech at 31 weeks (I felt it happen) and was still breech at my 32 week appointment. I'm 99% sure i felt/saw (looked like baby was trying to burst through my stomach!) him/her flip back to head down around 32.5 weeks. All I'd done to encourage it was some child's pose type positions and being sure to lay on my left side. Sure enough, when I went for an u/s to check fetal position baby was back to head down and has been ever since.

My LO flipped at about 36 weeks...but she flipped from normal TO breech and then stayed there. Thanks, sweetheart

Miss A went from a wonderful semi-engaged position to breech at around 34-35 weeks. I had a successful ECV performed at 38 weeks and went on to have a vaginal delivery.

He still might flip. My doctor told me it doesn't really "count" until 36 weeks (which is when my baby flipped to breech after being head down the week before). I had a failed ECV and my baby is still breech at 38.5, have a C-section scheduled next week. I tried the positions on the spinning babies website, but they didn't work - he is just stuck head up. Sometimes when I am sleeping his head is so far up near my stomach I have trouble breathing too.

My MW has seen babies flip from breech position IN labor.

Tractor Girl was "still" breech at 32 weeks and since I didn't want to even consider the chance of having to fight for the right to a vaginal breech birth, I started seeing the chiro weekly for the Webster and regular adjustments and she flipped at 34 weeks. In the car, on the way home from my second adjustment. So, yeah, I'm pretty sure that the chiropractic work was successful. Not that we had a lot to worry about yet, but I didn't even want it to become a question.

@grizz: The chiro is definitely a good way to go! My MW is experienced in breech birth so if turning didn't work we would just proceed with our original plan. I do know that for those mommas that can't switch or don't have a provider experienced in breech delivery she advises to wait until labor starts... That way 1. You know baby is ready & has had every opportunity to turn and 2. Baby gets those good labor hormones.

@grizz: Have you considered getting with your local ican chapter to find a provider experienced in breech birth if bub doesn't turn?

@grizz: I don't know much about them because I don't live near a local chapter. =/ I do know that lots of natural & vbac moms have used their local chapters to find other moms in the same boat &/or providers! I would be pretty hard pressed to "schedule" a cesarean.... even if it meant I would still have one when labor started. *shrugs shoulders* It does seems like good news that he DID turn though! I'd just keep doing what your doing & try the stuff they have on spinningbabies & keep seeing the chiropractor!

@grizz: Did your baby flip from breech prior to delivery? I just went in for my 28 week appointment and baby marionberry is breech. We have until 36 weeks before they'll try to physically turn him.
