I bought from PB and had them embroidered in 2013. Medium is the normal size. I'm currently super duper freaking annoyed with PB because they still offer the stockings for LO2 but no longer offer the font I chose on stockings. They offer the font on everything else just not on stockings. I contacted customer service and they would not help, I even pulled the 2013 order # so they knew I had 3 other stockings I just needed to complete the order...they wouldn't make an exception

@Reese: yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy DD and I new stockings, then leave DH and DS's alone. PS we went with Mom and Dad and full first names for the kiddos

@Reese: haha, i never factored in money because i was always convinced i was done at 2. more because i am not sure i can or want to handle more than 2! But since i am having a second boy and i wanted a girl sooo bad, thoughts of #3 have crept into my head. i will see how feel though after actually having 2

You are so on top of the stocking thing! i feel like i need to get on it now.

@Reese: i wasn't a fan of even having to get a nanny for 6 months, so i'd still want to make sure i can handle 3 kids, lol. At least L will be more independent i guess by the it would happen. With unlimited money i would totally get hire help for cleaning, cooking and all that stuff. I have no clue what a Christmas sack is but i shall google it now...

1) PB...literally the only thing I've ever purchased from there! Funds, yo.
2) I got them embroidered with all of our actual names.
3) We didn't order extra, since they are personalized. They have a nice enough selection of nice looking ones that I don't think it'd look bad to get a slightly different one if they stop carrying the one(s) you get. However, we got the basic red ones.
4) I would say the medium size is normal? They seem plenty big.

I too, am ridiculously excited for our LO's first Christmas!

@jetsa: I bet you could just order the stocking with no personalization and then find a local monogrammer to match the font.

I knitted ours. They each have our first name (I made stockings for DH and me before we had a kid and I definitely wasn't putting mom and dad at that point!). I bought enough of the yarn to make another stocking if we ever decide to have another kid, in case it gets discontinued or the colors change or something.

I have been asking myself these same questions! I want to get family stockings so DS always has the same one starting with his first Christmas but know we will eventually have another LO. I'm thinking about just ordering 4 so we have an extra and waiting to get them personalized. I would be very bothered by having different fonts.

We put initials on ours since my eldest has a double name and it wouldn't fit. PB kids rotates stockings and fonts so you'll buy a whole new set when you can't complete the one you have. We have ours from PBkids and last year when I was pregnant I sat down with my husband and insisted on finalizing the baby name so I could go ahead and order a stocking.

They ended up sending 1 out of 4 stockings with the font about half the size. I returned it and it came back looking good but it was really a weird glitch and I was pretty mad.

You may be able to find a local seamstress who can mimic the font.

@Reese: We have ones from the Quilted Stocking Collection, with the blue background. The ones we have aren't available, but I have a doll with a red dress, my husband has a train and my son has the jumbo one (not the one for sale this year).

@jetsa: What about taking it to a local embroidery store? Our local store has a TON of fonts!

For my son's first Christmas last year, she made one for him with his name, and I suspect for the new baby she'll do the same. That leaves my husband as the odd man out (he has a plain red fuzzy one that he used when HE was a kid, and it has his first name on it). My mom offered to make him one too but I think he likes using his childhood stocking as much as I do.

@jetsa: Now that monogramming is becoming more popular, we have a TON of stores that opened in the last 2 years that do embroidery. And you can bring anything in and for like $5-10 I think they will put your name/monogram on it.
