I feel obligated to say "i could", because people around the world live in less than luxurious conditions compared to what we are all used to, and you make do, and you make it work. But uh...it wouldn't be good for our sanity, heh.
I think the whole concept behind "micro houses" is genius. We have a serious consumer debt problem in this nation and having to have "more" all the time is certainly an issue. Nobody *NEEDS* 4000 square feet.

hubs and I lived in a 500sqft bungalow for a year before we bought our house. It was a guest house to a main house and even though it was probably 100 years old it was renovated. We made it work for the year, but after that couldn't take the lack of space. The enclosed porch and crawl space were our only saving graces in terms of storage but they were unusable in terms of living space. We had no outdoor area as we were so close to the street. It was super awkward to have friends/family over because it was basically 3 rooms with doorways and the front room was the bedroom, then living room, then kitchen/bathroom. I like to sew and do diy craft projects and it was near impossible to store or work on anything that took longer than a couple of hours. Also there was no closets so we had to bring in large wardrobes just to have a place to store our clothes and winter gear. Thank goodness our parents didn't mind storing the majority of our possessions at their houses' a little while longer.

DH and I lived in a 500sqft apartment for almost three years and now are in a 600sqft apartment with the baby.
We have tons of room in our current apartment, we could have stayed in the old apartment if the bedroom had been able to fit a crib. But it couldn't.
We could totally live in a tiny house.

Yes, I could if the house was on a good size land in the mountains DH wants a few tiny houses on a property so that we can have a tiny compound
We live in a 1200sq ft home right now with a baby and large dog and my MIL lives in our basement and I know many ppl feel this is really small - but I think it works well for us and to be honest we could go smaller. I like the less is more concept. It keeps us from buying stuff just to fill space.

I could, but I wouldn't really want to for long term. I think DH and I could do 300 or so feet, assuming it has a good layout. But I like having room for a toddler and a dog to run around, and for big toys that we rotate to keep DS busy, and for my parents to stay when they visit.
On a side note, we haven't had cable in 2 years, so I've never heard of these shows, lol.

Yes. I grew up in apartments so I have no problem with smaller spaces.

We did 650 sqft for a long time, and loved it. I probably could have handled 400. But with a kiddo now??
I'd say 1,000, so a small house, would be good.
I totally binge-watched that show while we were flying on Southwest last week.

@matador84: HAHA! Exactly! Without the DH and kids? No problem!
But a tiny house and 3 kids sounds like hell to me
