LO1 is 27 months - she loves to hide and one of her favorite hiding spots has always been behind the floor length drapes. I was never concerned before because she would just stand there, but recently she's taken to grabbing the side of the drape and spinning it fast around herself like a super tight cocoon. Not only am I worried that she's going to pull the rod off the wall and hurt herself, she's wrapping the fabric so tight around herself, it's entirely possible she could suffocate if someone wasn't watching her closely. I pull her out every time and and am very firm that this is dangerous and not a game but she will not stop. Tonight, I took her hanging canopy down after several warnings because she wouldn't stop twisting in the fabric and she literally cried for one second, and then took off into the bathroom and wrapped herself in the shower curtain. WTF! I have no idea how to stop this behavior. Obviously, she is being supervised extra closely these days, but accidents happen so quickly, I really need her to understand that this is not acceptable.
