@jessibear: no, you were, I was just reiterating that it's so uncommon around here to be registered. It's crazy.
I have a call out to the center and also to the in-home who will only have 2-3 full time kids. E would be the youngest. I'm going to consider all available options and decide what is best from there.
@MK0180: Looking closer at the report they denied putting blankets on their faces, but not their heads. I don't get it at all.

@josina: My daycare was very similar when Xander was an infant - all the "infants" (6 weeks to 18 months) were in one room with a divider to separate the mobile ones from the non-mobile ones and there were usually 4-5 teachers that watched all 20 kids. It wasn't an issue and having that many teachers was often helpful.
But that blanket incident at your daycare would make me nervous. Can you find out if the teachers that were involved are still at the daycare or not? Maybe if they aren't there anymore, that would make you more comfortable.

@MRSJX3: They did CAT scans, etc, to make sure but there was no brain activity so they unhooked life support Monday night. Her dad (who was overseas in the army) was able to make it back prior. So sad.
Of course there are rumors going around (small town) that the kids were all playing in the pool by themselves (at 10 am?), makes me so mad that people make this stuff up.
The sitter is obviously taking it really hard, heard that she had locked herself in a room and wouldn't come out for anyone. LO and I made a card for her and sent it this morning. I feel sooo bad for her, I can't imagine the guilt and what if's and if only's. I just want to rewind to Monday morning and start this week over! (for everyone involved!)
Pool is down. And I believe a law suit is being filed as well, no surprise there.

@Adira: my first thought was how come the pool was not covered? that makes it even more of a preventable accident.
this is so incredibly sad and while i feel for the daycare provider and what she must be going through, i am more focused on the family of that little girl. they don't have the option to find another daycare which they obviously would and i would do the same.

What a tragedy. I would not be able to send my child back. You can't take your eyes off a toddler for a second, especially if there's a pool around. 6 kids was obviously too many in this situation, and now lives are ruined.
