It is said that 140+ beats per minute (BPM) indicates a baby girl and any number under 140 BPM is a boy.
Ultrasound indicated a 149 heart beat. Which would mean girl.
For Mavrick his heartbeat was around 140 so maybe this "wives tale" is right.
Did the baby's heartbeat match what the gender prediction say?

Hmm...I remember my son's heartbeat was always around 160, so it's probably not true

no, both heartbeats were over 150 and one's a girl and one's a boy. i don't think heartbeat has anything to do with sex. it may be just how active they are? or how active you were?

Yeah, my MIL said they were sure my husband's older brother was going to be a girl based on heartbeat, and that was obviously not the case.

Based on this "scientific" method, my mom's doctor predicted that I would be a boy... Clearly it's not 100%

Nope, the little man I'm growing has a super high heart rate. I think the lowest it has been (at the most recent U/S) was 151.

My son's HB was always very high. Actually all the wives tales said he was going to be a girl. I was shocked in the delivery room

Nope, heartbeat was always >150 and I had a boy. Everyone thought we were having a girl because of the heartbeat until we found out the real gender.

Our sons was over 140s (160s on first u/s) until 37 weeks when it was 130s-140s/
