- How long did you wear it?/When could you get your original ring(s) back on?

Nope. I just wore my rings around my neck. It took me a couple months for all of my swelling to go down.

I didn't buy something but borrowed my deceased grandmas ring from my mom! I switched at 37 weeks and had my rings back on 2w post partum.

I had to take my rings off around 30 weeks. I bought a replacement engagement ring (because I missed the bling!) which was super cheap (seriously like £20). I still can't get my rings back on at 16 months pp

I did the first time around--it didn't look like a wedding ring really, but it was cute/modern and didn't make that hand feel naked.
But it was toooo big and it fell off and I lost it after only 2 months. This time, I will probably just go without.

I did. I bought a cheapie set at TJMAxx.
We were married 2 months before I was pregnant and I wanted to wear my rings. But I had PIH/Pre-e and was very swollen for a long time.
Even though I lost the weight, I still couldn't get my rings after 6 months PP, so I had them resized. I wish I waited though because now they're too big!

@ineebee: I somehow managed to make it down to the wire before I had to take off my rings. But if I had to take them off earlier, I would have bought a cheapie substitute. I can't stop messing with/noticing the bare area!

@ineebee: I had every intention to get a substitute ring, but took mine off weeks ago and just never bothered. Felt weird at first but now it's fine.

I bought one with my first pregnancy but didn't bother with my second. My fingers got swollen really early and I didn't wear my rings for eight months - I missed them!

First time I did, but this time I just moved my Mother's Day ring over that is bigger to replace my wedding ring. I started this around 28 weeks this time. They were just too tight at the end of the day. I can still fit, but it's not comfortable.

I got a substitute ring pretty early on and am glad I got a decent one because I'm still wearing it 7 months pp! It was like this, from the same designer but with slightly bigger stones.

I bought fake set from berricle.com. Definitely recommend if you go that route. First time I was pregnant in the summer and needed it from 6 months until about 8 weeks PP. 2nd time I didn't wear as long.

I haven't had to take my rings off yet; I'm 30 weeks, with no signs of swelling. However, for a couple of weeks before I got married I wore a cheap engagement style ring (which has since tarnished), just so I could have my real engagement ring cleaned and the platinum re-rhodium plated so that it looked just like new for our photographs. At the time, I couldn't imagine going bare fingered. But if/when my fingers do swell, I don't think I'll be getting a temp replacement.

@sungirl, @simplyfelicity: great idea! My actual set isn't a diamond and cost only a few hundred dollars so this is right up my alley! Only thing is I don't know what size I need now. Should I go up a full size - 6.5 to 7.5?

My wedding band is a half size bigger than my engagement ring and still fits. My engagement ring started making my finger break out in the first trimester, so it's been off since then. I think I am more prone to excema when I am pregnant...I had the same problem last time. If my wedding band didn't fit I would definitely buy an inexpensive something to wear though...I feel weird with my rings off.

No. With my 1st, I wore them on a necklace. But towards the end even that bothered me. I was SUPER swollen which caused major itching. I didn't bother the second time around. I did have to get them resized after my 1st pregnancy. My hands and feet never went back to their original sizes.

Yes, mine got too tight at 20 weeks, and didnt want to keep wearing them and have them cut off. I live in DC area, and wouldn't ever wear them on a chain around my neck to get snatched. I ordered a "diamonique" ring half a size up from qvc on clearance for $39.99

Thanks for sharing all of your ideas, ladies! I think I'm going to get either a cheap band, or, if I can find one, a cheap look-alike. I wonder how much my ring size has changed! Yikes!

I did, my fingers got too swollen to wear my rings somewhere in the 20 week range and I couldn't get them on for months after giving birth. Ugh! I just ordered a cheap lookalike cz and fake gold band online.

I bought one really early just for fun - and then I actually lost weight, and I had to find a SMALLER ring. Thankfully my mother had some family stuff. I never got to wear that bigger ring, which is a bummer, because it was cute.

When we bought my wedding ring, I intentionally got it a little big (I think a half size) so that I could wear it alone when I got swollen from pregnancy. I've been mostly wearing it alone for the last week (since about 33 weeks). If it doesn't fit at some point, I don't think I would buy anything else, I'll just go without.

I wore an inexpensive ring with aquamarine- pretty blue for a boy plus we expected it to be his birthstone. I took my rings off at about 20 weeks. I was a very swollen pregnant lady.
