Nope! DH finds the name changing tradition distasteful, as do I. In our world, your name is the one your parents bestow upon you.

I did and I'm happy about. My married last name is much shorter and easier. I like being able to say The ____ Family. It's convenient for us all to have the same name. I don't think DH would have been interested in changing his name to mine, but he specifically told me that it wasn't important to him if I changed mine.

DS and I created our own new last name. That was the solution that worked for us!
@rachiecakes: @greentea: @icedtea: I love that all of your DHs changed their names! Way to follow your own path!
@arden: DO IT!
@kiddosc: If you're a teacher, you get addressed by your last name waaaay more than by your first name. Sometimes even by colleagues, too!

I did. I still forget and give my maiden name sometimes (it's been over a year...)
My maiden name was easy to pronounce but very very difficult to spell due to apostrophes and several different common spellings. My married name is easy to spell (exactly as it sounds) but confuses the heck out of people when said aloud. Trying to say or spell it for people gets them so confused. I just can't get a break

I did and I like it. Our last name is actually MIL's maiden name. FIL felt no ties to his name, so he took hers.
