I still have moments where I just can't believe she's a girl. I really thought our nugget was a boy! I kind of want another ultrasound just to double check, but my midwife practice won't do another one unless something is wrong. I always said I wouldn't go to a free-standing place for a scan... but maybe I am changing my tune!

At the very end yes! Everyone kept commenting that I was "carrying like I was having a boy" right down to the delivery nurse & I went to see a pyschic at a party and she kept saying she saw a boy...I was a nervous wreck! haha

The first thing I said once the doctor pulled her out, was is she still a girl? I was so afraid the whole time the ultrasound was wrong. Then we would have all these pink clothes for a boy and no name.

I was terrified. Only because I got so much pink. Her nursery was pink, her clothes were pink, her receiving blankets and towels were pink. I would have been happy to have a boy, but it would have been a pain to return everything.

How far along are you? My OB guessed at a girl, but we were looking waaaaay too early (around 15 weeks or less) to see very well. But we went with it, told our entire family we were having a girl at Christmas and lo and behold at the 20 week scan we're looking at boy parts. (We were both shocked and DH even more so. He was completely convinced we were having a girl.) So am I uncertain? Yep! We'll see who was right soon!

@daniellemybelle: we found out we were expecting a girl at 17wks and like you we were totally convinced it was going to be a "he"! I wasn't sure whether to believe it or not, but we ended up with another scan at 19wks (the first was an elective/private) and the tech's words were "it's pretty obvious you're having a girl". So although that reassured me, it made me realise it's not that common for there to be mistakes!

Yep. I had my doubts that DD was a girl. I had 3 ultrasounds and asked for confirmation all 3 times. They told me 90-99% each time!

@Espion: I'm 21 weeks now, but I had my anatomy scan at 19 weeks. We saw the three white lines plain as day, but I know that you can see wieners better at 22+ weeks.

Every day lol I was convinced we were having a boy for some reason. I think the third thing I said is "are you sure she's a girl?"

I totally had a dream last night that when I gave birth, it ended up being a girl!
I really, really hope that dream doesn't come true!

@daniellemybelle: I would say an experienced tech/OB would be pretty sure at that point. (Because I'm a total nerd, I looked it up on PubMed: "Two-dimensional ultrasonography correctly identified 82 of 85 cases (96.5%). Three-dimensional ultrasonography correctly identified 68 of 73 (93.2%)." This is after 16 weeks gestation.)

Yes. I was absolutely convinced from the very beginning that we were having a girl, and kept telling people not to be surprised if it ended up that way, even though we were confidently told it was a boy. And in the end, they were right and mother's intuition was wrong. And he is alllll boy now.
One of my best friend's just had a girl, and was convinced the whole pregnancy that it was actually a boy, and they were wrong. No dice.

I don't doubt I'm having boy. I really thought and hoped it would be a girl, but I've been convinced by the evidence that it's not. It's probably a little different with a boy vs. girl, because with a boy there's something *to* see, as opposed to the absence of seeing something. But we found out first by blood test (MT21) and then at an ultrasound, they saw visual proof. Even DH and I could see it and we have 6 pictures of it now too, lol.

I had dreams she was a boy so it took me awhile to believe it but she ended up being a girl.

I always worried about the tech being wrong until we had an elective 3D u/s at 27 weeks...baby girl had her goods (or lack thereof?) on display big time so now I'm convinced!

@MrsCB: I dunno our tech was able to capture our baby's girly bits pretty well. if you notice the 3 lines thats the labia. I have no doubt the tech is right even though i had myself convinced it was a boy up until the ultrasound

Although, ALL the Old Wives tales pointed to boy... Obviously DD is a rebel

DH and I really thought it was a boy (he has 5 brothers and 3 nephews - no girls!). The tech at our first u/s said she thought it was a boy. We didn't tell anyone because it was early. Then at our next scan she said it was a girl! At the next u/s I had all three people (student, tech, MD) tell us it was a girl. It wasn't until then (24 weeks) that we told anyone. I was still nervous up until we saw her in person.

We were SUPER positive she was a girl, since we had a CVS done. There was no doubt in my mind! Although everyone liked to try to freak us out with stories of, "well, one person I know was told it was a girl, but it was a BOY! OMG!".....

My tech said she was 95% sure it was a girl, and that 5% was enough to keep me from buying a SINGLE pink thing until she arrived. I only bought gender neutral stuff!

I was so afraid my boy would end up a girl because that happened to one of my husbands friends who had a 3D ultrasound as everything. He is all boy.

Once we saw the ultrasound- we knew 100% boy- there was no mistaking it!

Yep...we had a very early (16 weeks) elective US at a boutique and learned it was a girl. We hadn't done any more and DH was very nervous about all the pink, lol

Our first daughter was XX at 12 weeks by cvs. With our second daughter, we had one very iffy ultrasound to go by, where they said "probably girl" but couldn't say for sure. We didn't buy anything (because that's adoption for ya, but you can bet that we had a boy name picked and ready!

We have had a further 3 scans since we found out the gender and every time I ask them if she's still a girl! I'm so paranoid she will pop out a boy, even now! I keep telling myself that if he has had it tucked up for that many scans he can keep it tucked up until he grows out of his pink, frilly dresses!!

I was 100% certain we were having a girl. There wasn't a doubt in my mind. We are having a boy...double confirmed through materniT testing. I still have moments of doubt lol..
