I never got my shot until I got the flu in 2006 and was out of work for 8 days, since then I've gotten one every year. A week of 102.7 fever was no fun. I'm only 6w right now so am a bit hesitant to get it before my 2nd tri so like @nodokiddo, i might wait til closer to Thanksgiving. It feels a little early to me now to get it.

No. I'm kinda anti flu shot. I really dont get the point of it because it only "protects" against certain strains of the flu and all the people I know who ever got the shot still get the flu as much as those of us who didnt

Absolutely! I've never gotten one until this year, but the benefits of getting one far outweighed the risks.
FYI: Vitamin D has been shown not to help ward off colds or flu.

I work in a hospital where we get several rule-out flu cases a week during flu season. We are also required to get the shot, unless we have a doctor's note or a religious exemption. I am planning to get it because a) getting the flu while pregnant would completely SUCK and b) it protects the baby. I always try to get it on a Friday because it does usually make me feel kinda crappy the day after. But I'd rather feel a little tired and icky for 24 hours than laid up for a week with the flu!

i just got mine last night (24 weeks)! i haven't gotten sick from the shots in the past though.
for a while i didn't get flu shots, and a few years ago i got the flu. it was just horrible. 100x worse than a bad cold--the sheer physical pain and misery of that was enough to get me back on the flu shot bandwagon.

yes I did - I got it at my OB's office 3 days before I delivered. I heard that it helps protect LO from the flu since she cannot have the flu shot during this flu season - and they have the thimerisol (?) free version there.

Not yet, but I'm going to. My OB's office does not do immunizations, so my husband and I are both going to our family practitioner to get it. Along with the tdap.

I got mine around 30 weeks. My OB actually said to because it will also protect the baby shortly after he/she is born. The pharmacist gave me the mercury free one. I didn't feel sick at all after I got it.
