Seriously though. I'm reliving my 3rd trimester IG posts through time hop and I'm giving my pregnant self some serious side eye. Everything was SO important, I think I just had too much time on my hands. Now I'm just busy with a super active almost one year old. I can't believe the tiny details I obsessed over. Sigh. I'm surprised no one pulled me aside and told me to shut it.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: several posts a day.... My weekly photos, screenshots of baby center, neatly folded cloth diapers and baby clothes, other random baby related musings. Basically over posting and way too much text for a post of a photo.

I definitely tried not to think I was the center of the world when I was pregnant. I'm sure there were times where I couldn't believe someone would do something in front of me but I probably would have been annoyed if I wasn't pregnant.
Oh, I'm sure there were things that I couldn't control like pregnancy hormones but I don't think I had much of it. (My husband is thankful, but would have understood if I was.)

@youboots: heehee it's all good! I think most do get it to some degree. I know I did! But I think our reaction might scare people even if they did try to tell us. Maybe people know not to mess with pregnant women!

In regards to how miserable I felt in the first tri and very end of 3rd tri...I was probably really short-sighted in that way but not so much in a bump photo/social media way.
FWIW, I wouldn't worry about it. I would just assume you were excited.

I had the opposite, I guess. I had several people who jokingly asked if my son was "wanted" because I didn't post anything on Facebook about him (I don't really post anyways) and rarely posted on Instagram about him. I (kindly) explained that I was more than happy to bore them with facts if they asked, but I wasn't kidding myself that the general public was interested in my belly size.
ETA: Except with DH - I'm sure he eyerolled every time I dramatically rolled over and claimed I was in the most pain anyone had ever been in ever.

HA. Yes I was and I admit it. With a crazy two year old I eat my humble pie daily.
In a way I'm glad I realized it. I'll be going into a second pregnancy relaxed about all the little things. I'm excited for it actually.
I'm going to try and still take weekly photos and maybe upload them though. I'm glad I have those to look back on with my first pregnancy.

I tried not to be because I was aware of a friend who having difficulty conceiving and I had had a few other friends who had suffered miscarriages around that time so I was trying to be cognizant and respectful of what they were going through. I definitely posted baby bumps every few weeks but not daily.

With my first I posted a lot of belly shots and "excited" type of posts (oooh look at this new outfit for the baby!) etc. This time around i'm too busy, but now that i'm in third tri i find myself venting/complaining about aches and insomnia a lot lol. oh well.

I didn't overly post to social media but babies and pregnancy was pretty much the only thing I was interested in talking about. I'd talk about other things but I wasn't interested in other things.

Internally I did, I mean, I shopped, washed, catalogued on a spreadsheet for months. But I didn't post about it anywhere.
I think it's a total first time mom thing, I enjoy watching others go through it because there is just so much hope for the future, you know?

Heck no. Over posters on social media tend to annoy me, so I'm pretty sensitive as to what I share. I'm currently pregnant with #2 and I haven't even announced my pregnancy, and I'm not sure if I will. A birth announcement will suffice. Maybe I'll post a pic in my third trimester. Maybe.

I don't think so - a little bit to myself (I spent a LOT of time researching things. A lot. And I turned down a free Ergo from a friend because I wanted a different colour) but I really didn't post anything on social media or talk about it to anybody other than my husband. But I don't generally think that pregnancy is that exciting for anybody other than the pregnant person - I don't care about seeing your bump pictures, I didn't even care about taking my own.

Although I have never sent so many selfies to my besties in my life. They live far away and that's the only way to show them how my belly is growing, which they are interested in seeing. Other than that unless asked specifically about something pregnancy or baby related I don't offer IRL.

On HB?? Heck yes! I seem to recall a post obsessing over the right parent organizer to get for my stroller. *eye roll* But I was super worried about the baby, and I'm pretty sure that the obsessing over stuff was my way of trying to take control. I try to tone it down a bit more now!

I've really tried to filter and limit what I post on social media of my pregnancy, for this reason but also not wanting to vent/ complain too much at the end. However, I will say, a lot of my college posts via timehop make me cringe!

In my head, for sure! Not on social media though. And I talked about pregnancy to my mom a lot and I'm pretty sure by her "mhm", "that's nice", "k" responses, she was probably sick of it.
I only talk to my pregnant friends about pregnancy now or my due date group.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I have a girlfriend who won't send me a single pic! I am sure she looks great too. She's due in April and I've got maybe one pic. It's hard to live far from your amigas. @youboots: I think it's cute in hindsight. I didn't post a lot except for on my family chat and they loved it. I certainly did a lot of organizing, arranging, and picture taking but I didn't post most of it.

I'm ridiculous in my own head and with my husband, but I really limit my social media postings about it. I posted an announcement at 23 weeks and then a few pics from my baby shower, but that's been it regarding my pregnancy.

Ha! I'm glad I documented my pregnancy with weekly posts/photos ... But now that I'm on the other side, I realize that no one (aside from my family) probably cared. No one cares as much about your life as you do, lol.
It's like when a "boho" friend posted her nursery ... I thought to myself: "You just wait! Your kid is going to shit all over that sheepskin rug!" - but I TOTALLY see all of that as a right of passage, and I don't hold it against anyone for being excited.
I'm willing to bet we will document (or share) our next pregnancies in very different ways from the first: "Baby is growing. I'm fine.", posts once a month!
