I'm 26 weeks right now. I was laying on my side, cuddling with DH when I felt something wet. Rolled over and I had a big wet spot on my shirt. Squeezed my boob a little and colostrum started leaking out!
Is it wishful thinking that this is a good sign for breastfeeding? Anyone else start leaking colostrum while pregnant? How far along were you?

I never did! My milk came in 3.5 days after birth, which is within the normal range.

I haven't yet (28 weeks) but I want to lol. I'm scared my boobs just won't work! Completely irrational fear, I know.

I started leaking on mothers day! About 20 weeks. I'm now 31. Fun times lol!

@Running Elley: I wouldn't worry about it. I've read it's perfectly normal to not leak and perfectly normal to leak. So either way is normal!

I'm 22 weeks. I haven't had any actual leaking to the point where my shirt is wet. But since the beginning of my 2nd trimester I will notice almost like a lotion substance in my nipples sometimes. Particularly after a hot shower.

mine didn't leak but i had this milky gummy texture in my nipples. could that have been colostrum dried up?

@WinnieBee @RunningEllie: I am so relieved to know that I am not the only one! I have been worried about not being able to bf and about supply, and most recently I have been wondering if my not leaking (I am 33.5 weeks now) is/was an indicator of not being able to bf/pump. I know there are no guarantees, but at least I can cut myself a little slack now.

I didn't with DD #1, but with #2 I started leaking around 20 weeks and noticed it most when I got out of the shower.

I never leaked and my milk came in on the 9th day after my C-section.

I noticed some clear oily liquid leaked all over my bra and two shirts! It was quite a lot, but not yellowish. Does it come out during the wash? I am concerned because oily stains usually stay on my clothes even if it gets washed. Sigh...

I first noticed a bit of discharge when I was about 20 weeks. Kind of freaked me out, haha! But now it's nice to know that everything is in working order.

nope not at all. my milk came in on day 4 with charlie after a c section. with olive, i'm not even sure when it came in. i was pumping from day 1 because they had her in the warmer and we had to stay in the hospital for an extra 5 days. but i was producing so much colostrum with all the pumping (plus she was eating so little), i'm not sure when it changed to regular milk.

I think I started leaking a tiny bit of colostrum during the 8th month. My milk took almost a week to come in, but I think it's because I had some heavy bleeding after delivery

I did! I noticed at 28 weeks when I was trying on tops at Gap Maternity.
I did have a good amount after he was born and milk started coming in within 24 hours!

I never leaked, and I don't think I was producing enough colostrum at the hospital, so we had to supplement with formula the first two days we got home. I'm producing like a mofo now, though... hahahaha

I started leaking around 20 weeks, and I'm at 36 (!!) weeks now. Hope my milk comes in quickly for these two hungry little boys!
