I went on the Mirena after Logan and I HATE IT. It's the worst birth control I've ever had. I'm giving in 6 months and if things don't improve, I'm getting it removed and going back to BCP. Eventually, Hubs will get snipped.

I took two packs of the pill after DD was born. It made me even more crazy than the postpartum hormones, so....BYE. Haha! We want more kids anyway (and I'm not KU yet, and DD is a year old) so it's worked out okay.

@Adira: What are the side effects that you are feeling with the Mirena? I need to figure something out by mid February when I go to my 6 week pp appointment. I am leaning towards bcp but not sure.

@Kimberlybee: It has absolutely killed my sex drive. Not only do I never want to have sex, but it takes me FOREVER to get into the mood and orgasms are harder to have and a lot weaker.
But I've heard my side effects are rare... so hopefully that wouldn't happen to you.

@Adira: oh yikes, that's not good. I'm hoping I can find a bcp that will not alter my hormones too much. Hope it improves for you.

@Kimberlybee: Thanks. My OB said to give it 6 months, but if there wasn't any improvement, I should have it removed and try something else. Regular BCP never affected me this much, so I'll be going back to them I think.

I did not. I don't react well to hormonal BC and don't want an IUD. DH wants to get snipped.

Because I get migraines with aura I am limited in my hormonal birth control option (no estrogen). I had a terrible experience with the mini pill pre LO1 so I got a Paraguard. I got another paraguard after LO1 and now after LO2 we are using condoms until DH gets a vasectomy.

Just started oral BC after having LO in November. I like the one I take as you only get your period every 3 months which is super convenient for me with all my triathlon training. I have noticed a difference in my libido though. I'm also hoping the pill will help control some of my post baby acne which is terrible along my jaw line. Not sure how long I'll stay on it but I don't really like the other options available. I wish there was a BC pill for men! If we have a second baby, DH would get a vasectomy after that so I wouldn't need to mess with BC after that.

Nope. Pull n pray. Not worried about it failing and it didn't.
DH will probably get snipped when we know we are done.

I got an IUD after DS and will get another one after theoretical LO2. Once we are finished, DH will get a vasectomy (during March Madness!).

Nothing after DD1. I went back on the pill at six week with DS. I found it really helped stabilize my hormones and help my feel "normal" again if that makes sense. I really wish I would have gone back on it the first time around because maybe it would have helped with all the anxiety/depression I had... But who knows right?!

Nope. After BC pills for years and then pregnancy and THEN breastfeeding, I never wanted to mess with my hormones. I wanted to feel like myself. We used condoms mostly and PNP.
I won't ever go back on BC. Once we are for sure done DH will have a vasectomy.

Absolutely. We were taking zero chances. Mini pill after the first, and he wasn't allowed anywhere near me until the Mirena was in and working. Not ready for anything permanent yet, and I've been extremely happy with Mirena for the past 2 years.

I got mirena at 8 weeks pp, and absolutely love it.
Insertion was a breeze, no painful side effects, and I haven't had a period (currently 8 months pp today actually.) I am on the fence about #2, so I'll either take this out if we try again, or it's good until 2020! -
Once I went off the pill top repair TTC I realized how much the hormones messed with my body. I swore I would never go on hormonal BC again. We used condoms until TTC for #2. Once this one is born DH will get a vasectomy. He's already even picked out the Dr. LOL
