I'm curious if I can expect it to pop out in the next 8 weeks. It seems REALLY deep to me still so it's looking like it's not gonna happen! Does it not happen to everyone? Did it happen early or late?

Nope. Both times mine got really shallow but never popped. For some reason I was really dreading it popping, so I was glad

Yes, around 30 weeks. I usually have a super deep belly button, so was surprised it did!

Same experience as mrs. tictactoe and rattles - not with first (just got flat), but yes, around 22 weeks, with my second

interesting! all this time i assumed it happened to everyone during pregnancy but i'm 32 weeks and my belly button is still crazy deep! so it probably won't happen if it hasn't yet! thanks for all your input.

It never did in my first pregnancy, it just stayed pretty much flesh with my stomach. That's how it is now and with 5 weeks to go I doubt it will pop out (hope not!) ha

i totally thought everyone's belly button was supposed to pop out during pregnancy. mine did not, and looks like i was far from being alone.

I'm kind of an innie-outie combo, so mine popped out pretty early...maybe 26w? And it's pretty prominent. DH pokes it all the time.

I had a really deep innie that got shallower and shallower until it popped out. It was really weird. I would occasionally put a bandaid over it because you could see it through my shirts Seems to have gone back to normal though - maybe a bit bigger than before, but back in.

Mine popped out with my first and went back (albeit shallower) and then it popped out again with my second and now I have an umbilical hernia I'll need to get repaired after my last baby.

I'm so jealous of everyone! Mine popped early and I felt so ridiculous...

I had a half innie/half outie to begin with, and it popped around 20 weeks.

Yup mine popped out kind of early on, maybe 26 weeks or so. I thought I had a deep one too, but it got pretty out there. 9 months post partum and while it mostly went back in, it still doesn't look quite the same.

@mrs. tictactoe: same here! Not at all in my first pregnancy! But now I have a half outie in my second!

Mine popped around week 34 last pregnancy. This time it's been popped since 26 weeks!

@ineebee: @2PeasinaPod: D has this, and I call it an "in-betweenie"
Mine bulged out just the tiniest bit, but not in a "turkey's done" sort of way. More like there was a small fold of skin on top of my belly.

Yes! It did this weird half in/half out thing starting around 32 weeks, and then popped all the way out at 36 weeks. I remember crying postpartum because it didn't immediately go back in and I was so upset about it It was back to normal within 2 weeks or so.

Mine started out as a super deep innie so I have a hard time imagining it popping!

With DS, it never popped.
With this pregnancy, I'm only 20 weeks... so yet to be determined

Yes both times. By 20 weeks my belly button was flat and after that it popped

It didn't or either pregnancies. I kept waiting for it into during my first pregnancy.

Didn't pop but got flatter. Then after birth it was so deep. Like a canyon. I thought it was really funny and kept showing people.
It looks normal now.

At 25 weeks, my innie is getting more and more shallower. I'm hoping it doesn't pop out.
