I watched a programme last night about a pregnant woman, she got treated to a spa weekend surprise by her DH.
I have a lovely DH and get flowers occasionally and went in holiday etc earlier in the year, but got me to thinking, he hasn't done anything specifically for the pregnancy itself, not even offered a foot rub eg without me asking. I don't think he doesn't care, I just think it wouldn't cross his mind. What about your DH?

No he didn't. I suggested we get push presents for each other (both of us gets something & then we pass down to boy or girl when they get older) but he said the baby was our gift lol

Dh surprised me once by bringing home a food item I had been craving but that was the only surprise

Well Mother's Day was 1 wk after my due date (but before I had the baby) and he got me earrings.

Not so much during my pregnancy. But, he does a lot, now, afterwards. I think it was hard for him to think it was real until M was here.

My husband would run out a lot for me. Like, if I needed tums at 11 pm, he would go out and get them, no question, and usually bring back a food item I was craving at the same time. Same with any cravings--I had them, and he would get them. So not necessarily surprises or presents, but they were still really special!

Psh, no! I've been pregnant twice and no surprises. He did the dishes a couple of times without me asking, does that count?

Ha I wish! I remember I told him how some p regnant ladies get a gift for delivering and he was like, why would they do that? Good man but not Mr romance by any stretch.

Nope - and I didn't expect anything - we're just that way and I don't mind at all. It's so nice that we're both not really gift people bc it takes the pressure off of both of us

Not surprises, but he told me to go to the spa a few times for prenatal massage, facial, etc. spa certificates are his go-to gift for me whether I'm pregnant or not; he knows they are a fail-safe gift for me!
He also gave me a push present, but mostly because his best friend told him to "had better"; and I picked it out.

Nope. I find that this stuff just creates unrealistic expectations for the husbands. I got a push present, but I told him we still come ahead when we think about how much we saved by me not drinking coffee or alcohol.

He surprised me with a Mothers Day gift. LO was born just a few weeks before it. I wasn't expecting anything because we don't do lots of gifts.

Wow very lucky lady to get a spa weekend! My husband isn't the gifty type so no gifts (I don't think its something that crosses his mind lol) but he did let me fulfill my cravings for cake and mcdonalds when I needed to without making fun of me :x

He took care of meals the entire 9 months (that was a pleasant surprise!) and I got my feet and backed rubbed almost every day.

He did get me flowers at one point... I think I was about 9 months pregnant and miserable with swelling....hormonal, and crying over everything. Scored a lot of brownie points!
He never offered to run out and get anything I was craving, nor did he ever offer to rub my back or feet the whole pregnancy... but luckily my family came to visit for Thanksgiving a few weeks before J was born and my sister, mom, and even dear old dad rubbed my poor swollen feet. They looked terrible!!!

Well we have only known for 7 weeks, he got me flowers shortly after. He has been running to the store as needed and picking me up food that's out of the way. He gives me a foot rub almost every night, but that's been going on as long as I can remember, but I feel like he gives me better ones now
I don't expect anything besides for him to be as thoughtful as he usually is, anything else would be a bonus. We rarely do gifts, really only for milestone birthdays. No Christmas presents.

So far not really b/c he's already bending over backwards to accommodate and keep this pregnant woman happy lol! He's done more than enough!

Nah lol. My DH is really bad at that kind of thing. If I want him to give me something, I have to spell it out for him.

He brought home meals, booked prenatal massages for me, foot rub/bath, and flowers on/off (but he's a flowers type of guy).

My husband hasn't gotten anything special per se, but he's been unbelievable the entire pregnancy. He's gone to every single appointment, he drives me to and from work every day, he goes and gets me whatever I need/want, and has basically taken a "whatever you want" attitude about anything baby-related. So I feel totally spoiled. We've talked about a push present, but since I'm going on such a long unpaid leave, I feel bad about getting something expensive.

No but he sent me the sweetest email that I have saved to this day - it was from April 2008 and I was due with DS in Sept.

I know of late your body has not been kind to you with headaches, nausea, and being tired…….Just want to let you know how much I appreciate the pains and discomfort your body must go thru in order to bring another life into this world.
It may seem exhausting day in and day out, however, there is light at the end of your uterus and that little twinkle will soon be your sunshine! I'm proud of the way you are handling this. Let me know how I can make the days easier for you….

I still get all choked up when I read that today - I didn't care about gifts or things I just wanted him to "feel my pain" so that note just made my day!

I had a sweet tooth while pregnant so DH would bring home milk tea with bubbles for me if he drove pass the bubble tea shop.

My husband doesn't buy gifts just because, but he's pretty cool about spending money when the situation warrants. For example, we went on vacation when I was about 7 weeks pregnant and I had a few sessions at the spa (facial, pedicure) because a massage was off limits.
What really warmed my heart was all of the errands he ran when we were still in the hospital and those first days at home.

I love my husband, but he doesn't have this kind of "mind." He will do things when I ask, but the element of surprise/gifts just don't' come easily to him. I've tried and tried to get him to surprise me but he says it's too stressful. he's like my dad in that sense
That's okay he did say "Sunday is your day, go shopping for new maternity clothes, gets some pants that fit" (I've been crying because only yoga pants fit right now) so this is sweet to me.

@Mamaof2: AW! DH randomly emails me little love poems and notes and stuff, too. So sweet.
But, no. No gifts! He's not really gifty and I'm ok with that.
