I have no qualms about returning or trashing gifts. I am so tired of crap in general. I have a wish list for a reason. Get him something like the list (not necessarily on it but you would see he likes disney jr, building things and helicopters). So the random food toy (spaghetti which we don't even eat) and the transforming that isn't the plane... What?

I know I get their kids board games which aren't necessarily the families thing but they don't have an up to date wish list.

Nope, so far she's only gotten books, which is what I asked for. We've got another tree/round of gifts to go, so we will see.

MIL gave DS a Darth Vader helmet with a voice changer. It's cool...but is already annoying. Especially with the light saber he keeps swinging around.

@autumnlove: haha I gave my niece big hugs Elmo, and she loves it, but I'm pretty sure my SIL is going to hate it.

@HLK208: um...I need to see a picture of said unicorn. I think it sounds like a perfect addition to your master bedroom

We got lucky this year!! No annoying gifts. My mom did give us a toy for jake then said 'I'll want that for my house' (she watches J 3 days/week). I mean...I get it, but...it just hit a chord with me that I didn't like.

@mediagirl: Is it the M&D giant giraffe? I think it is soooooo cute! A friend of mine has it in her baby's giraffe themed nursery.

@HLK208: Agreed with others, I need to see this unicorn! MIL got D the Vtech Around Town Baby Driver. It is SO annoying, but D freakin loves it. UGH.

@HLK208: hahahaha!!! That is just so wrong! My DH's grandma loves to shop garage sales and buy random things. She bought DS a giant gorilla before he was even born, I stuffed it in a closet but now that we need to turn that room into a nursery, it needs to go!

@HLK208: My cousin's daughter, 6, wanted that unicorn. She had to send out a help message on FB for people to look at their Kroger (grocery store) cause she wouldn't stop talking about it.

I was raised Catholic and my DH was raised Jewish but neither of us are religious. My family knows that we are not religious and are not planning to baptize M. My Aunt is obviously in denial or something because she keeps giving LO religious gifts....at my baby shower she gave her a baby's first Bible and for Christmas she gave her a baby's first Christening ornament. I just smile and say thank you but it's really annoying!!

@lawbee11: That's really annoying. I think my MIL is in denial about our lack of religion because we keep getting overtly religious gifts from MIL's "friend" that works at the "florist" she goes to. We've never even met this person, but she send religious ornaments, plaques, books, to us for every holiday and birthday. I'm pretty sure this person is fictional and is just MIL's way of getting religious stuff into our house.

R received a pair of adult sized sunglasses...shes 6.5 months. Wth?

We still have to do Christmas with my family this weekend but I think we are going to be safe. MIL asked what to get the kids this year which was a great relief since all of her previous gifts have been returned due to not being age appropriate/us already having or us not having the space for.

We got a lot of age inappropriate things, which is really annoying. Lucky LO is only 8mths and doesn't realise. A size 2 shirt, 18mth + toys and some stuff she is too old for. We also got some double ups, we now have 3 walkers and 2 ride on cars but the gift itself was great.

@78h2o: I know what you mean but we just don't have anywhere to store these things, we are moving into a little 2 bed house. One present was 3+, thats a long time to store a toy.
