Yes! I don't ever remember being left in the car alone for long. Usually to pay for gas, or run into the store to grab milk or something.
I remember one time I was in the car and my parents were talking to a mechanic (I think???) and I too the emerg brake off and the car started rolling backwards! scary. They got in and stopped it in time. I did that because I used to hide under the dashboard because I was scared to be seen by strangers.

No, I wasn't allowed to stay in the car alone until I was over 10. My oldest is 12 and asks to stay in the car all the time.

All the time. I remember once my mom left the car on (super smart) and I must have been around 8 or 9, my brother was probably 11 or so and my sister was 2 or 3. Somehow she managed to put the car in neutral and we started to roll backwards. Luckily my brother grabbed my sister and I jumped over the seat to throw it back into park. How I knew to do that, I have no idea!

All the time. And we were left at home alone too. Not as babies, but after 5-6 years old.

Probably around the time we were in upper elementary. We had enough sense to keep the doors locked and would listen to the radio.

Starting around when I was 10, they would leave me in the car if I didn't want to go in to the grocery store. They always left it running with the A/C or heat on, and instructed me to never unlock the door for anyone but them. I guess they trusted me not to try to drive away with it

Probably. My dad tells stories of taking me and my 10 yr old brother to the BMX races and leaving me in my infant carrier on the back of the car while he and my brother raced...

@Mrs.Panda: lol I have a similar story but I was the one that put it in neutral and didn't know what to do and we rolled down a hill behind the office my mom was in... by the grace of God the car basically turned itself and barely missed the building and the cliff that was behind the building. Needless to say I will never leave my children in the car hahaha!
