I've been with my company for almost five years, and in that time got married and had a baby! They threw me a shower for both life events! SO SWEET.
I wouldn't have expected it from my last job.
Our group is tight-knit for being part of a larger global corporation!

We're a tight knit company too, but my coworkers are all men (I am the only woman) and my DH and I own the company, so I don't expect it.

They threw me a baby shower...it was awesome. They got us the FP rainforest jumperoo and a $100 BRU gift card along with some other smaller things. It was really sweet!

My boss is throwing me a work shower in March! My workplace is a lot of women, so we always have showers for weddings and babies. We usually do potlucks and gifts for new dads too!

My last job throws everyone bridal/baby showers! There were a lot of people but everyone was close. I don't know about this job though...

Yes. I work with a husband a wife team and they hosted a huge engagement party for us, and hosted my local baby shower.

They wanted to and I asked that we just do something within our department because I had been to enough awkward work showers. We went to Shake Shack, saw a movie, and they gave me presents. It was perfect.

Thankfully only my immediate department did a small lunch one both times, it's 4-5 others that I work very closely with. Definitely not necessary, not a big fuss, it was really sweet!

Wedding - no (but I worked with only 3 other people at the time), but baby - yes!! It was a surprise party and so sweet, especially since I work with all men!

Yes! For both! For my baby shower they sent me over to the Peninsula for a pedicure and then they met me for afternoon tea there. It was lovely!

Yep, it was a "surprise" (I found out about it, but pretended like I didn't know). It was during school with all my kids and their parents. So sweet

Yes! It was a surprise, but I had figured it out beforehand. It was very, very thoughtful! They bought us our exersaucer, K'Tan and a bunch of other small things.

They didn't, but my bosses sent me home 2 weeks before I was supposed to stop working and paid me for those 2 weeks!

Yes, they threw me a great shower with games and onesie decorating, two diaper cakes, DH, it was nuts. They gave me a gift card for the exact amount of a pump. I thought that was awesome, I would have been weirded out if I had to open a pump in front of everyone. DH's coworkers had a lunch for him and they actually bought me my pump. Even better!

I've been lucky too. Work hosted a wedding shower and it was a total surprise; my husband and I were extremely appreciative of the gifts and money. A worker friend is going to host a baby shower for me. We tend to do this for everyone, which I think is awesome!
