It was WAY worse at my old job but I think there is still some here. I try to stay out of it.

Big time. I work in elementary schools with a bunch of women. The gossip is out of control~students, parents, administration, staff. Nothing is off limits. I hide in my office to avoid it.

Some, but it's rarely mean gossip or anything. I like to listen and not contribute to gossip

I'm pretty sure some people here think they get paid to gossip. Not everyone is bad, but word does get around!

@PointeShoesTutus: I'm at an elementary school too. It wasn't bad before this year, but we had a lot of changes in our school and system this past year and things got pretty gossipy. I only talk to my best friend and try to stay out of it.

Yes but not at the Level I work at so I don't ever get involved. I really hope the staff isn't gossiping about how I look like I've been eating to many hamburgers (we aren't planning to announce quite yet to my work).

Sort of...the program I work for is small and my actual office is teeny (3 people including me when we're fully staffed, but we're down a person right now). So most of my other coworkers are scattered around the country. It doesn't totally stop the gossiping, but when it happens it's not usually about mundane day-to-day things and it's a lot easier to ignore if I don't want to hear it.

I work in an environment that is 95% women...so yes, there is gossip! Before I started working there, I guess the gossiping was so bad that they had to develop a 'no gossiping' policy!

@autumnlove: I work with 100 men and 6 women. I'd they the men are the worst! It's like living in a locker room...

At my old job--yes. All day. People would go into someone's office, and a few minutes later, get up to close the door. That became the signal that gossiping was in full force.

Nope... I also work for a ministry though where we all know we're not supposed to gossip.

I'm in a new building and it's not as bad, my old building was awful! Everyone knew everything that went on.

I work in a jail with a bunch of men. They gossip worse than when I taught at a preschool with a bunch of women....

There's only me and another woman in the office at work, so our gossiping is limited to our own families and our boss (my FIL). He warrants a lot of gossiping though.

there is plenty at my work, but i do my best to stay out of it at all costs!
i work in a high school so you can only imagine the amount of gossip i hear daily!
