My baby girl is 7 weeks old, and lots of her newborn clothing is gender-neutral, because we didn't find out her sex before she was born. Even the girl clothing I've bought since she was born is kind of neutral, since I hate pink.

Every morning, I put her in the stroller and we walk a few blocks so that I can get a coffee. And almost every morning, someone at the coffee shop will peer into the stroller and say something like, "Oh, how cute, how old is he?"

On one hand, it doesn't bother me on a personal level. Like, I'm not offended on her behalf that someone might think she's a boy. And I don't care if people think I don't dress her girly enough.

On the other hand, it DOES bother me that in this day and age, people STILL assume that a baby is a boy just because it's not wearing pink and purple bows and ruffles.
