Hellobee Boards

We have reoccurring events on Google calendar to remind us to do those weekly/bi-weekly/monthly chores that you may forget. (I'd like to think we are clever, not dumb!) Stuff like back-up the computer, clean our cars, clean the humidifiers, etc. For more long term to-do's we keep a list on a whiteboard hanging in our home office. Stuff like fix squeaky garage door, seal the patio, check basement for mold. More icky, home stuff that sometimes languishes for months.

DH does all the exterior stuff and I do most of the interior. He helps when I do deep cleaning of the house and also with dishes/laundry every once in a while. I try to shovel snow when I work from home during the winter and I also try to mow the back yard with our push mow while he does our huge front lawn during the summers. We don't really have a set schedule or recurring besides the daily necessity chores.

No system, we just kind of fell into our roles. I do daily picking up and cleaning (the cleaning lady does the deep cleaning ), dishes, laundry, etc. Hubby takes out the trash and recycling, deals with the cars, and house maintenance like fireplace, AC, roof, etc. I guess we just do what we're good at and have time for.

We did when we first moved into our house last year and had a lot more space to manage. We had to set up recurring events in Google as well so we could remember to take out the trash, prep the recycling, do a load of laundry. Most of it was because we were so overwhelmed with a new baby, we'd forget! Now that we're used to it, it just happens on its own.
