I went to staples earlier today and was bringing in some old ink catridges and a bit of ink went on my finger. The sales associate kinda freaked out and ran to get hand sanitizer for me to use to clean it off and warned me not to eat until I had washed my hands. She made a really big deal about how pregnant women shouldnt come in contact with ink/ toners. I had never heard of this until today and to be honest I wasnt too concerned about it. Have any of you experienced this?

I didn't know that. But my husband takes care of our ink anyway.

Wow. I mean, I wouldn't pour myself a nice cup of ink with breakfast or anything, but that sounds a bit... much.

Jeez are we supposed to be porcelain figurines for nine feckin months?! It never ends does it! Don't colour your hair, don't use nail polish etc, don't use depilatory creams, you're a bad person if you even think of having a drink, don't keep your phone in your pocket, don't drink out of plastic containers... All of which no doubt do the Mommy Guilt complex far more good than they ever do the baby. It'd drive you batty.

Never heard of this! I got covered in ink last year when I was pregnant - I was changing the toner in the photocopy machine and it pretty much exploded - it mostly got on my clothes but my hands were pretty gross.

Nope, no idea it was frowned upon, I did many times and my son turned out fine.

what! never heard that before lol. so far, haven't gotten ink on my hands, but i have changed the printer inks.

Never heard of this. I changed the ink a few times during my pregnancy!

Hadn't heard this. I did the IT at work so changed multiple toners. I always figured printer ink was nasty so avoid exposure as much as possible as a matter of course.
