My brother and I were spanked when we were younger and, at least for us, made us much more obedient towards our parents. We were fearful of getting spanked so we always did what they told us to do. Now, as adults, I realized that spanking actually might have done us some good. But then I look at my cute little boy and I can't imagine ever spanking him. Plus with all of the negativity out there in regards to spanking, i think it made us see spanking in a more negative light. He's starting to hit his terrible two's and I'm confused as to what form of discipline is right.

I just recently spoke with a co-worker who told me that she spanked her son and he's one of the most well-behaved kids in his class. She completely believes that spanking works.

What do you think? Does spanking work? Is it just a short-term solution that will cause negative long-term effects? How do you discipline your children?
