I don't like the taste of aspartame (it's too sweet) in diet beverages and can tell the difference between coke and diet coke.
Do you drink diet beverages?

Absolutely not. Not to mention aspartame is really really not good for you either. If I do drink a soda (on a rare occasion) it is certainly not diet.
coconut / 8305 posts
Nope... I refrain for the same reason as @tejbee I don't drink diet anything or sugarfree stuff (except gum b/c it's pretty much ALL sugar free these days)
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
I can't, it gives me migraines. (I feel like that's my response for everything. ) I don't drink soda anyway, only water.
nectarine / 2886 posts
I used to, until I became pregnant. I would have a Diet Coke maybe 3 times a week, but my doctor said it wasn't a good idea
pear / 1769 posts
Never. I probably drink more soda than I should, but it is never diet. It is my understanding that diet drinks aren't any better anyways.

I don't like diet anything. I love cane sugar sodas!

I used to LOVE diet Coke...But now I hate it. I don't know why!

I don't like the taste of diet sodas. I do drink a regular Dr. Pepper once or twice a week.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
I try not to drink any soda, but when I do its Diet Mtn Dew probably once a week. Otherwise, I drink sweet tea or water.
grapefruit / 4049 posts
I used to never drink diet til Coke Zero and Cherry Coke Zero. So good... but I stopped drinking it during pregnancy and now only as a special treat.
grapefruit / 4056 posts
I am a diet coke addict, I cut back to 1 can per day during my pregnancy, but at this point there is no way I could go any less than that. I have a history of PCOS, which puts me at greater risk of gestational diabetes, and my OB said that in my case if I am going to drink pop, diet is better for my blood sugar than regular.
pear / 1787 posts
I am also a Diet Coke fanatic. I despise the taste of regular soda--it feels too sweet and heavy.
I hate ordering Diet Coke out at restaurants because I always worry that people are judging me--as in, why would you eat greasy, fatty Mexican food, for example, but order DIET soda?! Well, because I like the way it tastes, that's why.
persimmon / 1329 posts
@ Mrs. Bee, I feel the same way. I hate the artificial sugar flavor of diet drinks.
clementine / 958 posts
I love diet dr pepper. I used to drink one for breakfast on my way to work every morning, which I fully admit is totally gross. Once I got pregnant, I quit drinking them. I've had a couple since giving birth, but I think I've finally kicked my addiction.
coconut / 8854 posts
Yep I only drink diet sodas. I don't drink that much soda, well I don't think it's that much, about 2 per day.
grapefruit / 4120 posts
Not since getting pregnant/breastfeeding... I look forward to starting up again in a few years, LOL.
honeydew / 7968 posts
typically don't drink diet.... but some things my hubby and i both drink, i'll get diet - more for him than me. like diet peach snapple. i used to drink just the peach snapple, but now, i drink diet for my hubby. (well, lately, haven't drank it cuz i'm pregnant)....
eggplant / 11287 posts
I can't help but drink a Diet Coke every now and then. I usually enjoy one about three times a month. more than one soda a week is just way too much for me! it's a treat.
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
Nope, I don't like diet stuff. I don't really drink soda, but if I do it has to be the real stuff, not diet.
squash / 13764 posts
I hardly ever drink soda anymore, but when I do, I only drink diet--the real stuff is too sweet for me, and I can't stomach drinking that many empty calories (I'd much rather drink fake chemical crap! ).
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
I love diet Coke and Sprite Zero! I have 1 a day. Now you are all making me feel really bad. I also had it from time to time while pregnant.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I don't like aspartame either, it has a weird chemical taste to me. I can't stand it in things like yogurt.
pea / 21 posts
There are just some days where I HAVE to have a diet coke. Not a regular coke...too sugary and sweet for me. It's a treat for me anyways. My husband is always telling me to just drink a regular coke but I can't do it!
nectarine / 2750 posts
I used to be OBSESSED with Diet Sunkist. But I always knew in the back of my head that all those fakey chemicals could not be good for me. I slowly backed off of them as my New Year's resolution last year and now I don't drink any soda. Just tea and water.
grapefruit / 4554 posts
I'm not a fan of aspartame, but I will get a Diet Coke every now and then, but I prefer regular fountain Coke anyday.
eggplant / 11824 posts
No diet drinks. I don’t like the flavor and I don’t like ingesting the chemicals. I don’t drink much soda at all, although for a few weeks having a regular Coke/Pepsi in the afternoon seemed to help a little with morning sickness so I did have 1-2 glasses almost every day for a few weeks. Probably drank more soda then than I had in years and years combined!
grapefruit / 4800 posts
No, they taste really weird to me.
When I was young we went to a pediatrician who advised limited soda but no diet soda so I never tasted it until I was older. And now I just dislike the taste.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Pre-pregnancy I drank a diet coke a day. I probably now have one once a week.
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
I don't like cola's at all, and I usually find regular soda to be too sweet. If I decide to indulge, it's usually in diet grape or cream soda which are made with splenda instead of aspartame.
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
I usually drink a Diet Coke a day. During pregnancy, I cut way down or drank a bit of caffeine-free.
kiwi / 537 posts
I love diet coke, gave it up entirely for my pregnancy and thought I would stay with it. I am only drinking one a day now but really wish I had stayed away from soda post baby. Maybe I'll give it up for Lent.
coffee bean / 45 posts
I used to live off Diet Coke, but I've cut down to maybe one regular Coke a month. I figure with how little I'm drinking it I may as well enjoy the taste, stay away from the aspartame and take in the calories. I don't drink diet wine so I feel fine not drinking a Diet Coke.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
I love me some diet Coke. Not right now, of course but I can't wait to have it when I'm not pregnant anymore! I've never liked a lot of juices or drinks like Snapple, iced tea, etc, so I always lean towards a diet Coke rather than a drink of another type.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
Ugh, I hate diet drinks, especially diet coke. Tastes disgusting to me. I drink regular coke. I get Mexican coke so I'm having cane suger instead of HFCS.
clementine / 878 posts
I love me some Diet Coke. DH hates it, but only drinks soda as a mixer, so for him I buy Coke Zero because it tastes better to him, yet still avoids those extra empty calories.
After drinking diet for so long, "full octane" soda tastes too sugary to me now.
My doc didn't have any concerns about my "habit" (one diet soda a day), so I feel no guilt when I have a need to crack one open. But I do try to not have a soda every day.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
Yes, I am hopelessly addicted. I much prefer the taste of Diet to regular, and I have a hard time going more than a day or two without one. I'm trying to break my addiction before TTC because I know it's not good for me!
