Lately a lot of the pregnancy people I know seem to view their pregnancy as something to be super excited about, but not be realistic about. They get excited about buying all these fun baby things, but not actually being realistic about all the changes a baby brings.
one lady in particular acts like her baby is her fashion accessory. "I cant decide if I want a boy or a girl. for a girl, I can buy her all the cute pink ruffly things and it will be so fun to dress her up! But you dress your boy so cute, it makes me want a boy!"
I dunno, it just seems so weird to me. Becoming a parent is such a real, scary thing and I was freaked out half my pregnancy trying to prepare for it! But it just seems so many moms live in lala land, not being realistic about what's about to happen. Do you feel this way?
I just think there has to be a balance. And I think it's important to realize that as much as you might want things to go a certain way, you can't plan for everything because there is no telling how that child's temperament, personality, etc will be for sure!
