@MapleMoose: love the glass bowl! Can't decide between the red and raspberry!

@Ash: how's the glass bowl different from the ss?
The one thing that bugs me about it is that the whisk never reaches the bottom and you always have to scrape. Does anyone else have this issue?

@locavore_mama: I just like the quality - nice and sturdy and looks pretty sitting on the counter lol!
I always have a little flour sitting in the bottom of the bowl after it's done mixing.

@chopsuey: @Ash: No complaints with the glass bowl here! Plus like Ash said, it's pretty

@Ash: @MapleMoose: hm. I wonder how much just the glass bowl is. The scratching of the whisk against stainless bowl does irk me. hahah

Yeah, we have the bigger "pro" one I think? We got it as a wedding gift. I've never used it...

@locavore_mama: my problem is the opposite-my whisk goes too far down and makes an annoying scraping sound. I may have to look into this glass bowl idea!

@locavore_mama: Just looked quickly but Amazon had it for a little over $60 and Target sells it for about $70. Yikes!

I have one. It's an Artisan model from Crate and Barrel in white. It was a wedding present.

Yes, and I love it so much. DH told me he ordered one on our first date and I swooned Plus, it looks awesome on the counter!

@MapleMoose: haha I just checked too. I'm not paying that much for a bowl! I'll keep an eye on eBay for a used one maybe.

I have one in matte silver and I love it. It is so easy to clean, and so easy to use. I probably use it once a week or so.

I love KitchenAid mixers so much that I have two! I adore baking (especially layer cakes) and I do so much of it that for my 30th birthday I upgraded from the artisan series to the professional.
I got a terrific deal at Macy's - though I must say shopping there is usually a nightmare.

@swurlygurl: @Ash: I will have to try that. I even have the screen thing to prevent it from flying out. You are talking about this one right?

@locavore_mama: The glass bowl is wider and it came with a lid, a special cover for adding ingredients, and (my favorite) - an attachment that mixes and scrapes the bowl for you. I actually used my mixer to make green goddess dip (sour cream/cream cheese/etc) and it works so awesome for that. No scraping needed.

@T.H.O.U.: Yep! That one. I am jealous of that screen thing... I always forget to ask for it for birthday/Christmas!

Yup! An almond colored one. I moved it to make room for a sterilizer for all of our bottles. Once we are done with all of that I will put it back out again.

Yes, I got a commercial one at a church sale several years ago! I think I only paid $40. What a deal!
It's super old though. If it dies, I want the mint one!

No, and I've never missed it. I have a KitchenAid hand held mixer and an immersion blender. That covers it for me! Not a big baker.

@LovelyPlum: I was reading the reviews and someone posted a link on how to adjust your mixer to prevent the scraping.
