@Mrs. Jacks: I've never thought to spell your girls' names another way. I just wish that everyone knew how to spell!

Where I grew up and where I live now, people spell my name the right way. But when I lived in Vancouver, BC, there was a city with the same name as me, spelled a different way from my name. Out there EVERYONE misspelled my name, spelling it like the city instead.

I'm another ends in -y, but could end in -i, -ie or -ee. I'm used to spelling it out and have not been traumatized by it. I do get annoyed when people respond to my work emails (which contain my spelled out first name both in the address and signature) and spell my name wrong. It's 5 letters long, come on! Basically, lots of people don't pay attention to details and aren't great spellers, so no matter what the name is, it'll probably get butchered a lot.

Oh yeah mine is Cristin which is spelled more commonly Kristen, Kristin, Cristen. Christen and so on lol
I've never met anyone spelled like mine which I like.

@JennyD: I'm a Jennifer too, and seriously people, I spell it the normal way! I've gotten Jenipher, Jenifer, Jenniffer, Jeniffer Jenyfer, Ginifer. Uh, yeah, my parents did not try to get all crazy with my name lol
It doesn't bother me, it does amaze me though!

YES. My name can be spelled 10 million different ways and people rarely get it right.

Yes. I spell my name the traditional (french) way. But, I guess there is also an english way, which more people tend to write my name as, even though I have never seen it spelled that way in real life, but phonetically is easier to process (Marjorie vs. Margery).
The biggest issue is my nickname. Nickname is usually a shortened form of someone's name, so to me it makes sense that it would be spellled Marj, though most people (including my inlaws) spell is Marge. Even though there is not one "g" in my name.

@Crisark: I'm Kristin. I usually get Kristen, but it always amaxes me the different spellings people come up with. Those don't bother me, but I hate when people call me Christine, Kirsten, Kristy, or Kris. Those aren't my name.

@futuremama: I totally agree! I am not Cris, I didn't tell you you could call me that lol I don't care for made up nicknames lol

@JennyLayneAZ: @JennyD: People are so weird. How can you mess up spelling Jennifer?

I guess people can mess up ANY name so I don't think I will stress out too much about the spelling of DD #2's name!!! Thanks everyone!!

@Andrea: @JennyD: I know right? Me neither - all the Jennifer's I've ever known spell it the normal way. No need to complicate things!

Yes, and although it is one of the typical spellings, it is not the most common spelling, so everybody gets it wrong at least once.

Yes & even though my name is the "traditional" spelling it gets misspelled & more often then that mispronounced which always boogles my mind because it is an easy name I think! ah!

Mine is only spelt one way, that I have seen. Some people may mispronounce it though depends on their ethnicity.
But it is a pretty common name, so most do not.

@cvbee: Woohoo! I live in BC and always wondered what they were thinking when they came up with the spelling Courtenay for the city.
