I could get us into the daycare that has a part-time rate...
I would get the raise I'm due at work...
And I could take on a few more hours...
We would have $700 more a month without any significant lifestyle changes.

I always wish DH and I had chosen different fields of work. -
we have a boat we bought years ago when we were young and stupid. so if only we could sell it, we'd have $1200 more per month between insurance, slip rental, and payments. It'll be paid off in the next few years but we'll still have insurance and slip rental, ugh.

@2PeasinaPod: I feel you on the overdue raise. We didn't get scheduled increases this year because our non-profit took on a new ED. But I feel I deserve a merit based raise, but didn't think it was the time to ask since the board had recommended no raises.
I am going to ask for more hours though. I figure it's an easier sell, plus more money than a raise. Although it means more work for me!

My daycare would let me pay for only mornings, then I could go back to work halftime when my mat leave is up.

If only I could sleep in occasionally, sell our condo right away and move to the burbs, had enough time to get decent meals on the table for my family. Yep, I've got a lot of them.

If only I could convince my parents to move to Nashville. I would be the happiest lady around!! I would love to see them more (and for M to see them more). That way I wouldn't have to worry about them being far away from me as they age. And while I wouldn't impose full time child care on them... my dad is fully retired and it would be SO nice to have him around as back up when day care is closed or LO is sick.

If only we had decided not to buy and renovate our new office, we could have bought the perfect house we saw a few weeks ago...
In the end our decisions are wise, but man my DH and I are still talking about how awesome that house was, just barely out of our reach. :\

... We hadn't purchased our apartment right at before the bubble burst we could afford to sell it without losing everything we put into it
... We didn't live in an outrageous cost of housing area
And sometimes wish we'd chosen different fields of work too. Sometimes I think we should have chosen jobs for the money and done the "helping society" on the side.

WOOHOO got more hours at work. It won't really change our lifestyle at all. I was working 7/7/6 hrs M-W, and now I'll just do 3 8hr days. Now if I only could get into the new daycare that's cheaper and by our house, and didn't have to drive an hour a day getting to and from there...

Not really. There are things I would like, and if I won the lottery I would stop working and upgrade certain things, but I am pretty satisfied with our current lifestyle.

If only...
- I could stay at my current job (which I really do love-- most days-- but earn about $20k more!
- I had not taken on massive debt to get my master's degree which, most days, I don't feel like I am really utilizing
- I didn't feel like the only one in the world (OK, gross overgeneralization!) who was always playing catch up and just not enjoying life because of these financial woes -
If only DH got a promotion this year with a phat raise and one year closer to a new job and not traveling.
