I am in process of switching pediatricians because our current one is a bit far away and their wait times are very long. It is always a 2 hour affair start to finish, which is too long in my book. Otherwise, the doctors are good.
How do you like the doctor you've picked?

We absolutely love our pediatrician. We never have to wait, even if we show up early. His staff is outstanding, the entrance to the well/newborn room is completely separate from the sick room when you check in and the care my son has received couldn't be better.

We love our pediatrician. Every time I've wanted to bring Charlie in on short notice, they've seen us the same day... usually as soon as I call. Wait times are usually very short and we're in and out of there quick. And our pediatrician is so nice! I've referred soooo many people to him, but I kinda don't want to anymore so that he's not too booked!
The reception desk leaves much to be desired, but I've found that to be the case with all doctors.

Eh. We don't have a lot of options though, and the one we go to practices alone, so he really knows the kids and we always have the same dr. All the other dr's have like 3 or so dr's together, so you get someone new all the time.
The only thing I don't like about him is he is like really shy or something, and doesn't talk to me much.....

We love him, he's always so through and explains things so clearly. And unlike other doctors, we never feel rushed. He also has a LO a few months older than ours, so we feel like he understands things from a parent's perspective, which is nice.

My ped is a cardiac specialist and his manner leaves something to be desired, but he is an excellent doctor. We don't have a lot of choice in finding a doc that is close and easy to get to in case of emergencies, so we went with him. Most people would find him rude, but it's fine and I deal with a lot of muttering!

Yes, love her lots! She's super educated, nice, answers all of our questions, always says my LO's gorgeous.

I LOVE LO's doctor but like yours, ours is far from us the unless you have the FIRST appointment in the morning, the wait times are long. But I love him...He's so thorough, so caring, young, kind, supportive, etc. But the hubs thinks we should look into someone closer.

@Rubies: I think you should consider it when your LO starts daycare/school/etc. I started to find the distance and wait times a real pain once she started daycare and would get sick. Then we would go there in between well visits without fail and I found that too much time was being wasted, especially since I had to get back to work.
@Mrs. Bee: I interviewed one yesterday that seems great and they are less than 5 minutes away from my house vs our current one which is 20-25 minutes away. Yay!

I really like them. They're open 365 days a year which I love, and it's always been quick and easy for us to go there. You can always get an appointment the day you call. And the doctors are great, they always ask if I have questions and spend as long as I need answering them. And everyone I know takes their kid there, or went there when they were a kid. So they have a great reputation.

LOVE. I seriously have a platonic crush on our pedi. If she asked me to go to the mall or have lunch, I would definitely say yes. LOL.
She is ALWAYS available via BlackBerry Messenger, no charge, and when we have an appointment she always takes lots of time to talk to us and love on our baby.

There's not a lot of options around us so we went to a bigger practice that has about 10 pediatricians. It's close to us and great since there's so many of them that it usually runs on time and someone could see us if we needed them on weekends. So far we've been seeing a different physician each time and all been really nice, some of them we like more than others. If we weren't moving we'd probably try and visit most of the pediatricians at the baby well visits and then choose one that we liked best as she got older so there wasn't always a different one.
