I've never really baked so I don't own one. We don't have the counter or cabinet space for one anyway!
Do you own one? How often do you use it?

Don't have one. I don't bake enough to justify spending 300+ on a mixer.

I don't have a big kitchenaid standup one, just a little hand held mixer thing
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
we got it for our wedding otherwise I never would have shelled out the $$ for it. DH uses it way more than I do. We use it about once a week but could easily use a hand mixer if need be.
We don't have a lot of extra room either, but we have small hutch/armoire that we keep in the dining room and we put the mixer in the cabinet on the bottom.

I do. I bake a lot and use it for other things (like mashed potatoes or shredding chicken). My mom gave me hers because she never used it. Can't beat that! I would love to have the new pink one or a navy one!

I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, but it takes up too much space. I'm considering buying a kitchenaid handheld.

I have a kitchenaid. I don't use it often at the moment, but I'm sure it will get lots of future use!

Yes, a red kitchenaid stand mixer, one of my fave wedding presents! I use it maybe 1 - 2x a month, max. I also have a cheapie Target brand hand mixer. I don't have a food processor though.

We have a kitchenaid stand mixer. DH uses it to make pizza dough and bread. I use it when I need to make a big batch of mashed potatoes or the odd batch of cupcakes.

I have a kitchen aid stand mixer and when not lazy/pregnant I used it at least once a week and sometimes more.

we used to have a nice stand mixer, but got rid of it bc we never used it, took up too much space on counter, and was a pain to clean. ill use hand mixers from now on!

Yup, but it's a generic one we got on sale a long time ago. It has medium speed and hella fast. Even the medium is freakin fast! haha! I'd love to have KitchenAid mixer, but can't justify the price!

I have a hand mixer. We got a stand mixer for our wedding but couldn't bring it down with us so we returned it with the promise that when we move back to the US I can re-buy one. I used to use it all the time (the rule in our house is if you want something sweet you have to make it...), but since LO is allergic to eggs I hardly ever need it anymore.

A stand mixer and hand mixer. I actually use either on or the other fairly frequently. I really love to bake.

Yes. I registered for it for the wedding and it's a pretty stainless steel/silver one that I don't mind displaying on the counter (in the out-of-reach corner. I've only used it a handful of times since I took it out, but it really does make a difference in the things I've made with it (versus before).

We have a cheap little hand mixer and it is all we need. I bake fairly regularly but while the fancy stand mixers are cute, they don't qualify as a 'need' in my book!

Nah, I guess I don't bake enough, but I also like a good ole fashion whisking or hand attempt at beating lol

I have a beautiful pistachio colored kitchenaid stand mixer. I've only used it 3 times since our wedding last year (it was a shower gift from my sister and her husband!).
I would bake more, but our kitchen is so cramped that I get too frustrated.

I have a kitchenaid. I use it a few times a month.

I own a handheld mixer but can't wait to buy a kitchenaid when I own a home.
I use it about 1-2 times a month. Sometimes more.
I like baking.

Yep, I bought a Kitchenaid when we were dating and saved it for after we were married! It was on sale at the time, I couldn't pass it up. I use it at least once a week. To me, it was a must have in our kitchen.

I have a stand mixer and use it all the time. I bake plenty--desserts, savory things, etc. Especially around the holidays.

I have a stand mixer but my husband took my hand mixer somewhere and lost it. . Its so big - and our kitchen so small - that i really only use it to make cake icing, christmas cookies and mashed potatoes. So annoyed. He would flip out if I lost something useful of his.

I have a kitchenaid and I love it. I probably use it every other day and multiple times a day on the weekend. I make all our bread and bake a fair bit of cakes/desserts.
For bread it is a life saver as you can set it to kneed and just go do other things. Its great. Now I have it I would cry if it was taken away!

@dagret: why would he take your hand mixer somewhere? That's so random! I hope he replaces it with an upgraded one! Boys!

I could not live without my mixer. I wish I had a hand mixer too though.....

Just a handheld! We tried using it one time to make tomato soup though, and it was a disaster. We still have tomato spots all over our kitchen walls. Those are the times that I long for a stand mixer!

I kinda want one, but I don't bake. DH does, but he only bakes occasionally. Plus, we have zero counter space for one!

We have a kitchen aid. Maybe I will break it out this weekend. Homemade bread sounds great this weekend!

@mrs. bird: Grgh I know..How's this for random: DH's dad's friend owns a food truck and DH took OUR hand mixer to his parent's house so they could test donut recipes. And now it's gone. Along with my nice microplane zester. (Don't even get me started on the time DH cut my fabric shower curtain...instead of raising the bar.)

No, but I want one so badly. I do bake quite often, and I have a small hand mixer that works fine most of the time, but I still want a nice pretty one, ha. We don't have the space to keep it out all the time now, but in my fantasy world I have an awesome kitchen where the pretty kitchenaid can sit out all the time and when people come over they will ooh and aah about how gorgeous it looks. This will totally happen someday, right?
pomegranate / 3809 posts
Nope, I have no use for it. Maybe if I picked up baking, which is unlikely.
squash / 13199 posts
we dont have one but when I want to bake, or make waffles then I wish I did and i have to whisk everything manually. I may buy a hand held one

My Kitchen Aid is one of the most used items and definitely the most loved item. I love baking, and a hand mixer isn't tough enough for some dough, so I think it's essential.

Yes! I have a red stand mixer, and a white KitchenAide hand mixer also. I loooove baking so it gets used pretty frequently. I bought it myself a couple years ago. It's really fun come Christmas time, and my SIL, MIL and I bake cookies, we normally have all 3 of our mixers going at one time!! I'm suprised we don't blow a fuse!

We have a kitchenaid stand mixer and it is seriously my favorite thing in the kitchen (tied with my chopper!). I use it to mix meatloaf, make desserts, shred chicken and now with our newest attachment... make ice cream!! Yummmmm!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsBrewer: I use the bread hook and toss the chicken into the bowl... I use a medium speed and just let it do it's thing.
