I havent announced yet that we are expecting.. But I don't think I would say "We're pregnant!" because "We" are not, I am.. I don't know it kind of bothers me because its incorrect.

I would probably say "We are expecting", or "I am pregnant". I think this could be pretty regional though. I am in the UK and always associate "We're pregnant" with being an Americanism...?

I can completely understand your motivation though. I would hate it if people asked "Is this planned?" I would seriously want to punch them in the face. More and more I am wondering if we should just try and keep it a secret till baby arrives!! Hehe, thats impossible, but still...

@septemberlove: You poor thing. That is SO rude! We just got married so I think people will ask/comment about planning/timing. I don't know how I will contain myself as everything rubs me up the wrong way these days!!!

Nope. I say we are having a baby but I don't think we are both pregnant, so that phrase doesn't get used

Nope. I said I was pregnant, we were going to have a baby.

We haven't told many people yet either, but I think I say "I" and my DH says "we". Interesting to think about!

@septemberlove: Every single person we've asked has also asked if it was planned. I really need to think of a wittier reaction next time! It bugs me, but seems like it must just be the norm to ask with my group of friends?

I said "we're expecting" and "I'm pregnant". I did not ever say "we're pregnant" because it always irritated me because the husband isn't pregnant.

Hmm, never really thought about it... I think I usually said "I'm pregnant" but used "we" when it was statements like "We're expecting..." or "We're having a girl..."

no, i'm pregnant and we're having a baby. for some reason, i cringe when people say "we're pregnant."

on a funny (but annoying note) DH got denied for insurance because of "his" pregnancy as a pre-existing condition. i was like, wow, i didn't know you could carry our child! let's do it that way next time!
