Do you sing a special song at night when it's bedtime? If so, what do you sing?
I sing..... The Seekers-Morningtown Ride. My dad used to sing it to me every night when I was a kid

I used to sing her twinkle twinkle little star every night. It was her favorite song!
Now she prefers to have books read to her.

I sing twinkle twinkle little star too! I have been since the day we brought her home.

Row row your boat. Sometimes he'll request cookie monster's song, or elmo's ducks song. It used to be twinkle twinkle little star but he went through a boats phase so we switched to that

We sing at nap time and read at bed time.
So three naps means singing three times a day. And usually 6+ songs each time.

I sing "Jesus Loves Me" to her, and sometimes I break out in "Courageous" by Casting Crowns, since it was on my labor list.

There was this one time I ran out of songs to sing, which is how I ended up singing "My country tis of thee..." at 2 AM in the morning...
We sing all kinds.
Yellow Submarine, On Top of Spaghetti, etc. plus the songs from his toys which are permanently etched into my brain.

Yes! Made up songs or real songs...either works. I sing him silly songs when he's in the tub. When he laughs he tips his chin up and I can get his neck clean

We sing Now I Lay Me during his prayers and then while we're rocking him with his bottle we sing to him...lots of random songs. We always finish with a good night camping song that DH's family always sings.

@evansjamie: I sing Jesus Loves Me to my lo too! We also have a Mommy Loves Me and Daddy Loves Me version too that I made up.

I sing to her every nap time and bedtime, after we read. usually one song in the room and a couple after we close the door, from the hallway, which helps her settle. we always sing the goodnight song (using her name) from The Music Man. I also sing Shenandoah, Loch Lomond, the Goodbye song from Music Together - I'm not sure how they all got into the routine but now I can do it while reading in the hallway if she needs it! really helpful in strange places (hotels, etc) too.

We have a whole repertoire (bearing in mind I am the world's worst singer!). I don't sing to her every night but I do love the snuggle time when I do. I also love that she recognises the songs I sing to her when she hears them elsewhere and will always stop to listen. I sing, in this order:
Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head - Leaving on a Jet Plane - In the Ghetto - You are my Sunshine - Unchained Melody

After reading books, we turn off the lights and I sing Skinnamerink (Sharon Lois and Bram from the 80's) once and then hum it once while we cuddle/rock in the glider, then he goes in his crib. I do this for every nap/bed time. DH just reads and then rocks him for a couple mins, no singing lol.

@Mrsjets: I was singing this in the tub to LO today!
I sing "You are my sunshine" and sometimes add on "Power of two" by the Indigo girls. My DH just makes up silly songs to sing him but at 7 months he doesn't seem to care.

@Ree723: I love your selections! So funny! Do you sing the whole songs or just the chorus?

@travellingbee: Haha, I know, so weird! My MIL is somewhat appalled I sing In the Ghetto to my baby but I love that song, and it's what inspired me to become a social worker (so lame, I know) so I will continue to sing it! I sing the full versions of each of those songs, although I change the second verse lyrics a bit in You Are my Sunshine (instead of 'when I woke dear, I was mistaken, so I hung my head down and cried', I sing 'when I woke dear, I saw you smiling and my heart just filled up with love').
ETA: I just googled the lyrics to You Are My Sunshine and apparently there are way more verses than I sing! So, no, I guess I don't sing that sing in its entirety! I always thought there were two verses and that was it, oops.

I don't sing every night but I like to sing to him. No songs in particular just whatever comes to mind. Lately it's been Your Song, For the Longest Time, and Bohemian Rhapsody. I usually just end up singing the same parts of songs over and over.

I sing lots of songs. Whatever I'm feeling like that day but usually the Beatles at night, like Blackbird or Let it Be. Every morning though, I sign It's a Good Day Peggy Lee when I come in to the nursery and open the blinds and turn of the night light. She go nuts
