With A I had my membranes stripped and then walked two miles, I think that's what did it for me!

With my first, it was, *ahem* intimate time. This time, seems like this kid is staying in there FOREVER!

We were at Lowes after lunch and about to check out when DH remembered something else. So I standing in the front and a cashier asked me if I was in labor. I said no, and she said that the cement floors causes it. My water broke like 6 hours later.............

Nope. Just woke up in labor 4 days post due date. I'd been doing lots of walking and having plenty of sexy time and that did nothing. Ironically, the day I went into labor was after a night of watching a movie and snuggling on the couch with DH and some dessert.

I think I was already IN early labor, but trying out my electric breast pump kicked it into high gear.

Internal EPO (never again) + LOTS of walking and standing (6 miles+) for Inauguration. Water broke the next day.

Spent 10 hours standing in the kitchen on Saturday (making a million freezer meals for after baby was here). Water broke 8 am Sunday morning

I was walking a lot everyday but ... dh finished the last baby chore! He had to install an ac unit upstairs and we went to home improvement store, I was so crabby and sore and had to go sit in the car because he was taking forever and then at 11 oclock at night he finally installed it, finished at 1230 and we told baby she could come out now (it was officially her due date) and I went into labor an hour later. I even took a picture of him installing the unit,
like I knew.

@prettylizy: was it before or after your due date, out of curiosity?

@Greentea: haha! I already told DH that next time around we will be going to Lowes as soon as I am ready for the baby to come.

I ate a "pregnancy pizza" from a local place that supposedly brings on labor. There are dozens of pizza --> labor stories on their website. Two days past my due date I ruined dinner so we thought it would be funny to get the pizza. I went into labor the next day.
We joke about the pizza bringing on labor - but having no effect on delivery. I was in labor 51 hours.

Walking a ton did it for me. I walked to the new downtown Target and then back.

@LovelyPlum: that's what I thought too! Either go away or make something happen, contractions!

So I did every single thing that all you guys did that put you into labour: EPO (orally and vaginally), spicy food, TONS of walking, sex, blue and black cohosh, acupuncture, two membrane sweeps......and I still went to 42 weeks and had to be induced. I say baby comes when baby's ready!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
I really can't think of anything that triggered it. I was walking a lot, but that's not out of the ordinary for me. My doc was talking induction, and then my water broke the next day!

Unprotected sex! Although that didn't help the second time... the only thing that got her out was pitocin!

@septca: how come you wouldn't use epo internally again? Was planning to start!

I bent over and picked up a pen, and felt a huge POP and gush. I have been doing squats all day, and nada I think tomorrow my MIL and I are going to do some gardening and walking.
@heartonastring: lolz!!
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
I think I was already leaking a bit, but I did a bunch if deep squats while I was pulling weeds in the yard. After I stopped, contractions started. It was probably because I was 4 days past due at that point, but I like to think it was the squats.

@Corduroy: I've heard of a few places advertise this, what was on this pizza out of curiosity?!?

My midwife recommended I try EPO so I did once and my water broke the next morning.

With DD1: Nothing.
DD2: Membrane sweep and SUUUUUPER spicy lunch. Went into labour that night.
pomelo / 5326 posts
I had my membranes swept, ate a whole pineapple and tried out my pump the day I went into labour! It was my due date though so who knows if anything helped or if baby was just ready to say hello!
