I went in to labour two days after having an emergency root canal done at 41 weeks pregnant - the poor dentist told me she'd call an ambulance if I went in to labour!

For both pregnancies it was a few days after my cervical check. I also ate at the same Korean restaurant (ordered different food) on our Friday date night. I went into labor on a Sunday for both.

Okay, level with me ladies who are saying sex - how did you do it!? I'm tired, sore, gigantic and unsexy. We've done it about 3 times in the past week trying to get things going, and while I'm sure the prostoglandins in the semen are great, I'm nowhere NEAR o'ing at any point during the act!! Those of you who credit sex, did you finish or do you think it was just the semen?

In my case I tried everything from 39 weeks up till thy had to induce me at almost 41 weeks. I didn try castor oil because I heard it could cause meconium but I spicy foods, sex, acupressure, long vigorous walks, jumping jacks, evening primrose oil, breast pump, got a sweep. The whole 9 yards.

For my last pregnancy, I went into labor as a thunderstorm was coming and it was a full moon. The nurses said they don't really think a full moon does anything, but a change in barometric pressure does (they said it was very busy that morning in the maternity ward). That said, those aren't things you can control so doesn't help in moving things along (I say this as I'm 39 wks 1 day and really ready to be done and in labor!)

It MAY have been the lentil curry salad but I think it was more to do with standing up for a long period of time and the constant bending down to pick up the stick when I was playing fetch with our friend's dog for over an hour.

Honestly, I think it was bawling my eyes out for an hour. I released all my stress and fear and increased my oxytocin - my waters broke that night.

On a lark, out of desperation, I made an acupuncture appointment nine days after my due date. My water broke 4.5 hours after I left the appointment, and contractions started 4 hours after my water broke.

I went on a hayride (LOL) the day before going into labor. Also, I had a big presentation in a class, then went into labor immediately after!
