My parents haven't been to my house yet but they keep telling me that they hate it because we have a pool. We have a locked security gate around the pool but they keep telling me that my LO will hop over it and drown. Sigh...they love sending me articles about pool deaths.

No, because they live in the burbs and we live in the city, and they can't believe our apartment, which is 3x smaller than their house costs about 2x what theirs does.

My mom loves our new place. Dad hasn't seen it yet.
I showed them pics of our land and the neighborhood and they like what they see! Can't wait to build our house and have them come over.And yeah. Pools are scary, but you guys have a gate so all good! Just teach the girls how to swim so your parents stop harassing you

@betsyboop: I'm in the same boat- my parents keep lecturing that if we moved back to our home town, we could have a mansion compared to what we pay in rent. But besides that, they love our place and love visiting.

well we live in an apartment, but they liked it when we first moved in (it isn't a bad looking apartment), but now they are pushing pretty hard for us to buy a home. we have a few issues here and the neighborhood is not great.

That is really unfortunate that they *hate* the place because of a pool. If we had a pool my parents would be the first in line with their floaties.
FWIW our godsons parents have a huge pool and they LOVE it! their LO is not afraid of water , burns off tons of energy and its an easy way to amuse him (they swim with him of course). He is such an awesome little water baby..
I am sure as your LO gets a bit older they will realize it isn't the death trap that they think it is.

my dad was very vocal about not liking our condo...he said it was a great starter home but we had to get a real house with a big garden...my dad loved to garden...my mom also doesnt really like our condo because it is two stories and worries when i get pregnant that i will hurt myself...

They love the physical house, but they don't like the location. It's too far from them (about 40 minutes)
