Have you found that people had expectations about whether you would go back to work, cut back to part time, or stay at home, after you had a baby? I'm currently planning to stay at home for a few years after the baby is born (though leaving my options open until after my short term disability runs out). Of the people I've told, most people seem to be really surprised that that's what I'm doing. Of our friends who have had babies, I'd say probably 2/3 went back to work, and it does seem to be more the norm here in the Northeast.
I'm curious if other people have similar reactions, or the opposite, and if it's a regional thing. What have you found?
