All the time I read and hear about offering choices to help kids feel like they're participating in their day-to-day routine and to ease the stress they feel and help them feel like they have some control. I have tried this with D but it just does not work. He can't make a decision and stick to it!
So for example, getting dressed - I offer him a choice between 2 or 3 shirts. He chooses one. I go to put it on and he freaks.out. Like, screaming, squirming away from me, etc. And this happens all the time with any choices we offer. It's incredibly frustrating!
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Can anyone commiserate? Or is my kid just a stubborn, indecisive little punk?
