Have you used either evening primrose or red raspberry leaf tea? If you used EPO, how much and did you insert it or take it orally?

The usage of raspberry leaf tea calls for several cups a day for a good deal of your pregnancy. It cant hurt, but I wouldnt expect it to help much.
I did do EPO. I took it orally as well as inserting it at night. I dont remember how much I took, but I inserted I think 4 capsules. I think it helped. My induction went really pretty quick, and I credit that to the EPO.

I used both. I took RLT by drinking it in tea form and taking pills.
I took EPO orally, although maybe I should have done it vaginally. I heard it also does wonders for stretching and avoiding tears. I tore badly, so, in retrospect, I regret not doing that.
I think the RLT helped me TREMENDOUSLY. It strengthen the uterine muscles so contractions are more efficient and can do more work, for an easier/quicker labor.
My labor was 8h from start to finish and my contractions were 5m apart and less, and very powerful. Also, it helps contract your belly afterwards if you keep taking it. My stomach was not pregnant looking at all after I had my babe. Was it flat? no...but I didn't look 5/6 months pregnant when my baby was 1 week old.
As far as EPO, I can't tell you. I don't think I took enough and I only took it orally anyways.

I used EPO with both of my pregnancies, did absolutely NOTHING for my first (which I also drank RLT). However, with my second pregnancy my water broke at 37 weeks 1 day. I don't know if that was due to EPO or not, but I was using it. I was using it vaginally, because that is what my OB/GYN had told me to do with my first pregnancy, but I don't remember. Maybe two or three pills a night? It was more than one.

@MamaBehr: did you poke them with a pin before inserting them? or did you just let the melt in there?

I drank RRL tea. I ended up induced and never made it past a Pit dose of 8 (may go up to 20) because it was enough to make my contractions so strong that they had to back it down. If the RRL truly "tones" the uterus, then perhaps my favorable response was because of the RRL tea.

@TurtleDoves I just let them melt. You would be surprised at how fast they do! I remember peeing right before I put them in, and then laying in my bed for as long as I could before I had to pee again. I would do it right before bed, and rarely made it past 10 or 11 before having to pee again. They were probably in there for a few hours.

My midwife practice suggests: 1000 mg by mouth and 500 mg vaginally. I did this with my first and he was born a few days before my EDD. However, I was also doing acupuncture (with labor readiness points).
I had an extremely long labor, however I was 100% effaced after about 14 hours (which was the first time I was checked) I also drank RLT (maybe 1-2 cups per day). I also took black and blue cohosh during labor to intensify contractions.
I'm about to be 37 weeks and this time I'm not sure what to do. I'm afraid that some of the stuff I did might have led me down a path to have a long labor. But on the other hand, it could have just been the way my body responded to the stress of labor (I didn't have the typical stages like most people do).
I think ultimately there are just so many variables that it's just difficult to say what works and what doesn't!

@brady80: i used both, i started drinking red raspberry leaf tea pretty early on (at 28 weeks). i started taking EPO around 38 weeks, twice a day orally. i do think it helped because i didn't tear at all.
