I started at 35 weeks. I took it orally and then vaginally starting at 37. I also popped the capsules into bath water. I did 500 orally and 1000 vaginally.

I think it helped. I was induced but I went from 0cm and 0% to fully dilated in 6 hours.

Started at 35 weeks, took 1 capsule (500mg) orally until 38 weeks, then amped up to 1000mg. I was 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated by 39 weeks, and 'stretchy', so I'd like to think it helped.

-when did you start taking it?
Started at 37 weeks
-was it OK'd by your OB/midwife or did you just do it?
OK'd by my midwife (miwives - there were 4 in the practice, I spoke with one about it specifically at that week's appt. and she reiterated they were all on the same page)
-how many MG did you take?
Started with 500 mg orally once daily, then 500 mg twice daily. Added 1000 mg once daily before bed vaginally at 38 weeks
-orally or vaginally?
Both, orally first then vaginally also.

I was 'late' but was 2cm dilated and partly effaced (can't remember how much) from my 39 week appt. My labor was 12 hours long, and I dilated to 6 before admitting at the hospital - about 8 hours.
