A FB friend aka friendly sister in law of DH's bff shared a pic of a prisoner in his jail cell reading the Bible. The caption was something to the effect of "Bibles are allowed in prison and if they were allowed in schools he probably wouldn't have ended up in jail."
Really!?
My knee jerk response was something like 'school is for reading, writing, and arithmetic and parents should instill faith.'
I really do not like religion in public school because there is always a group left out. Teach it, don't preach it.
Anyway she responded that 'God should be with us always, teachers aren't even doing a great job educating and what she does for her daughter is okay and what I do with mine is my business. '
I actually agree with most of her comment, but when you start saying you want kids reading the Bible in public school that affects my kid and that's not cool. In fact I want to "like" her comment, but detail the part I disagree with. Since that would be awkward I'm commenting here. LOL
First, let me ask would you have even commented?
Second, do you think I am thinking about this too much? She is really lovely and I don't want things to be weird IRL.
