@periwinklebee: Glad you are home safe, I hope tomorrows ultrasound provides some answers and allows you to start moving forward.
@mrskansas: My husband is all for me tracking (and now seeing a doctor) and just telling him when we need to have sex. He doesn't care to know the particulars of why or whats causing me to say we need to have sex.
@bizwitch: Thats sweet that your husband is thinking about kiddos.

@azjax: I hope the betas give some peace of mind.
@snarkybiochemist: @bizwitch: Thank you guys!
I think my husband doesn't particularly care either way if I tell him when I'm fertile or not. I'm sure there are times when he gets tired of hearing me talk about TTC, then again, I do too I think at first he was pretty apprehensive at the thought of having a baby, even though we'd been talking about TTC forever. One advantage of it taking us longer is that he has had plenty of time to get used to the idea!

@bizwitch: I am not going on a true vacation, but plan to head out of town to my parent's house on Tuesday/Wednesday without my husband and with my cousin and her baby. (Just remembered that its Valentine's Day btw!). I am supposed to get my period on Wednesday so I am trying to decide if I should even bother testing before I get back. I am leaning towards just packing tampons and pretending I am not even thinking about it. Pretending to myself i guess? Lol

@junebugsmama: That's what I'm leaning toward to!
I feel like one of two things will happen: either I'll just be able to enjoy time with my friends, have a drink here and there and not think about it too much.
Or I will immediately launch into a huge soliloquy about it to my friend who is picking us up from the airport and then we'll go buy an HPT and freak out about it for my entire visit.
I much prefer the former.

@junebugsmama: @bizwitch: Good luck to both of you relaxing and ignoring all of this.
I'm 9 DPO and absolutely wanting to test but I want to enjoy my dinner more. My RE is ok with drinking til it's pink in every case but IVF and at the moment so am I.

So Wednesday I had my positive opk and we BD-ed that night late - around 10pm. That would make yesterday O day, and we didn't manage to BD. I'm trying not to freak out or get down about it. Do you think we ruined our chances this month? We got O-3, O-2, O-1, and if we're lucky we'll be able to today for O+1. Thoughts??? Are we out? I know technically not, but I still am worried...

@knittylady: I've always read that the days leading up to O were more effective in conceiving than O day. It definitely sounds like you're covered!

FRER was this morning.
I'm too busy getting ready for work to cry it out. But I'm disappointed and heartbroken (yet again). Just wanted to get the update out of the way.

@knittylady: You are fine! That is great timing. And welcome to the TWW I'm either 1 or 2 DPO!

@mrskansas: thanks
I'm most confused about the 10 days of spotting. I don't know whether or not I'm in a new cycle.

@madisonbee: I'm so sorry. What an a$$hole of a tww you had too. Having to act OK in the face of this heartbreak and disappointment is so awful.

@madisonbee: This was your 3rd cycle off BC, right? I've heard that it can take 3 cycles for your body to regulate afterwards. Hopefully that's all this was and your body starts leveling out asap.
pear / 1677 posts
@mrskansas: yep 3rd cycle. I would've understood that this was part of normalizing a cycle if it was the first one, not the third. I messaged my OBGYN for her thoughts.
@knittylady: asshole is an understatement! Good luck in your tww!!
Now off to go work with more babies ....

@madisonbee: Good idea on sending your OB a message!
Hopefully work goes by quickly so you can go home & have a drink!

@madisonbee: ugh I'm sorry!! It took my body months to regulate after I got off BC. I had lots of spotting and my cycle lengths were all over the place! Hope the next cycle is more normal for you (and your last for a while!)

@madisonbee: also, if you're up for it, try temping your next cycle! It gives you great information, even if it's a bit of a pain in the beginning.

@knittylady: I think you have a shot
@madisonbee: I'm sorry I hope your OB/GYN has some helpful answers. I also hope you get a chance to grieve and be disappointed
I am 10 DPO and have super sore boobs and am horribly tired but I also have some cramping. I hate that PMS and early pregnancy symptoms are virtually identical

@mrskansas: No I'm waiting until sunday at the earliest, I want to enjoy my valentines dinner and drinks on saturday

@snarkybiochemist: good idea! and nice job on the willpower. I hope I can make it past 10 DPO without using a wondfo 3x a day!
nectarine / 2180 posts
@mrskansas: Clearly my desire to drink is strong (and that sounds so awful). By Sunday I will be 12 DPO and it should be obvious either way.

@snarkybiochemist: hey, I don't blame you. I think alcohol is necessary for TTC.

Oof, what a night/morning. Went to bed at 10pm and woke up at midnight feeling super nauseous. It was coming out both ends... not pretty. For dinner we ordered sandwiches from the same place we've been a million times so I'm not sure what upset my stomach so badly. Then at 5am the dog and cat were going crazy so I got up to deal with them - dog wanted to go out and cat wanted food. I had set my alarm for 6am with the hopes of BDing before work. But I just reset my alarm for 6:30 because I needed more sleep and still felt nauseous.
So we didn't BD this morning, but I did get a positive OPK. I'm at the RE now waiting for blood work. Then I have to go spend the day with some teachers who are learning about using virtual reality in the classroom. I am normally all about these kinds of stories - I report on science and tech - but I really don't feel like having to talk with a bunch of strangers today!
Anyway, will BD tonight and tomorrow. Last cycle we BD'd the morning of my positive OPK but not the day before, so maybe a different approach will work this month? On the way to work my DH was talking about how badly he "wants to be pregnant," LOL.

@bizwitch: That sounds like a night from hell! Sorry you were so sick!
Will the blood work just confirm that you are about to ovulate?
nectarine / 2180 posts
@mrskansas: Exactly
@bizwitch: I'm sorry you are feeling awful and that you had to mix things up, but maybe its for the best
pear / 1553 posts
@snarkybiochemist: Thanks! I don't blame you for wanting to have a drink. It's really no big deal and I know pregnant women who have had a glass of wine here and there. I always look at how my social calendar lines up with my cycle and I hate when there's a really fun but boozey event during my TWW. I know I logically shouldn't beat myself up for knocking a few back, but then some stupid part of my brain is like "this is why you can't get pregnant." Shut up brain! I also have a friend who has been pregnant three times (two losses) and now has a daughter, and I was expressing these anxieties to her and she was like "You're more likely to get pregnant if you ARE drinking because you'll have more sex!"
@mrskansas: Thanks! Yes the blood work will tell me if I'm about to ovulate or just ovulated.
I keep thinking back to a 12-month tarot & rune reading that I had on my birthday. February was The Chariot which symbolizes success, and the rune was wunjo which symbolizes joy. That combination made me feel like maybe this is our month. Plus my horoscope that says I'll finally get something I've been wanting and working toward for a long time. Trying not to get my hopes up though!

@knittylady: I think your BD timing is great! The sperm needs to be there already to catch the egg for best chances, so far as I understand!
@madisonbee: I'm so sorry about the BFN. Hope vacation is fun!!!

I need to stay off the internet. I ovulated on cycle day 32 or 33 and everything I read says it's linked to MC or infertility because of bad lining & old eggs.
Yikes

@bizwitch: I don't know how I feel about drinking during pregnancy but during the TWW I am ok with it. Right now the ability to still feel likes me wins out over doing everything absolutely perfectly. Obviously many women get pregnant easily while not actually trying. I woldn't worry too much about it
pear / 1553 posts
@snarkybiochemist: Well said. If I deny myself things I might otherwise enjoy my anxiety during the TWW is worse and I'm more upset when AF comes
nectarine / 2180 posts
@bizwitch: Exactly, I need to be as stress-free as possible. We all need to do what we can to reduce our stress and still feel like us not just failing baby-makers

@periwinklebee: I hope your appointment goes well today and that you get the news that allows you to move forward

@snarkybiochemist: Thanks The heart had stopped. We scheduled a D&E, but unfortunately they couldn't get us in until next Friday. The doctor told us Tuesday, and then the scheduler was like - nope, the OR runs behind every single day, and if I put you in that slot Tues I guarantee you we'll have to cancel it because the doctor has to leave at 2;30. Sigh, one more week of being pregnant - so over nausea, exhaustion, growing boobs, and not being able to have sex with my husband (been on pelvic bed rest for a month due to bleeding). They want to test the tissue, and I just hope it is in tact enough to do that in a week.

@periwinklebee: Oh sweetie I'm so sorry. I hope you're doing lots of nice things for yourself, and that your DH is too.
