I've been more or less in survival mode, but am fantasizing about taking a a short weekend self-care trip with my husband when things are over and I feel back to normal.

Well, my OBGYN says to see how the next week goes and take another test if no period. My goal is next Friday - before the wedding extravaganza weekend I'll be in. If still not pregnant, then labs and pelvic ultrasound and a visit with her as soon as I get back.

I'm glad she didn't brush me off this time and actually wants me to come in. I think I stumped her with my very detailed spotting descriptions for 10 days. Ha!

@periwinklebee: I'm so sorry you're going through this right now. I hope you are able to get some closure and have a speedy recovery. I hope you are able to plan that small trip you want to take and that it helps you recover and reconnect with your husband.

@snarkybiochemist: I'm glad she is too!

I saw a video about those Thinx underwear. I just can't....

  23. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@madisonbee: I just can't do it, as great as it sounds to not have to but pads and tampons all the time.

@madisonbee: That's great. I'm glad she's responding positively to your needs!

@snarkybiochemist: Sorry lady. That was me the last two cycles. Early cramping/spotting... which only led to fantasizing I was just having a particularly intense implantation.

@periwinklebee: A nice getaway sounds perfect. Don't deny yourself any pleasure that weekend and above all take it easy on yourself. I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

@madisonbee @snarkybiochemist: I've heard that the period panties don't even feel wet! I've also heard they're really expensive though.

  26. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@bizwitch: this isn't particularly bad, but annoying. I'm trying not to think about implantation

@madisonbee: @snarkybiochemist: I use those Thinx undies! They're good for the spotting and days 3-5 of my period. I use tampons for my heavy days 1 and 2.

@periwinklebee: I'm so sorry I'll be thinking of you all week.

    @Tionn3: @bizwitch: really?! So crazy! I think mentally I couldn't handle it 🙈

@madisonbee: It definitely takes some getting use to, but I really like them. Before I got these I tried one of those diva cups and I just couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get it up there without injuring myself.

  31. dominobee

    pear / 1553 posts

@Tionn3: Diva cup was uncomfortable for me too. I used to use sea sponges which you can just rinse out and put back in. Sew some floss to it for a string. Boil to sanitize. They last 6-12 months depending on how many you have in your rotation. A normal size sea sponge cuts down into 3-6 "natural tampons" if you will, depending on your flow/needs.

I too feel strange about carrying my menstrual fluid around with me all day. Also, I am cheap.

  32. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@madisonbee: Hah, hah, you're like - I will keep calling you, and describing ALL my spotting in ALL the detail, until you take me seriously and try to find me some answers. Way to advocate!

  33. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@madisonbee: @Tionn3: The diva cup was awful for me - it didn't leak, but it hurt no matter how I inserted it. And it would hurt to have sex for like two weeks after, yuck. I asked the bees, and one suggested I had a low cervix and should try femme cycle low. There was a learning curve to figuring out how to insert it correctly, but once I got past that it's been awesome. I could never imagine going back to tampons.

@Tionn3: @madisonbee: @bizwitch: Thank you guys I really appreciate your support.

Hopefully my cycle will not be too out of whack and I'll be able to POAS again in April or May - I hope that all of you have graduated by then and I'll be cheering you on in the meantime! Given the time it took us to achieve this pregnancy, it's definitely sinking in that TTC is for the long haul.

Today the RE's office called and said my LH was 57, progesterone 4.3 and that I'm definitely ovulating. I do not wish 22 cycles of TTC on anyone but knowing absolutely when I'm ovulating is really, really great.

  36. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@bizwitch: The only good part about seeing and RE is knowing exactly what is going on with your body at specific points in your cycle.
