When your baby gets the hiccups how long do they usually last? Do they go away depending on what you do (move around, drink something, etc)?

Mine would last forever. I didn't even know that's what it was until I was at dr and picked up on dopplar. He still gets hiccups ALL the time.

@lydg: I'm a crazy person and I like to research everything. I've been noticing them more lately (30 wks) so I just googled fetal hiccups to learn about them and of course I find things warning that hiccups can be a sign that baby isn't get enough air due to a cord issue. Uh. Note to self.... DO NOT GOOGLE THINGS!!'

I did the same thing and saw same. I asked my doctor and he said its highly unlikely and would probably have shown up on sonogram. Don't sweat it!

She used to get hiccups all the time, and it would be during the most random times. She continued to have hiccups after she was born, and although I was worried at first, Ped said it wasn't a concern. I miss feeling the little hiccups in my belly

Baby gets hiccups all the time. Probably 5-6 times a day. I've only read that it's because the baby is practicing breathing and swallowing in the womb and it's totally normal. She gets them after I drink water or eat...almost guaranteed.

I usually notice hiccups lasting 2-4 minutes. They've definitely picked up lately (35w) so I'm guessing baby is really practicing breathing!

They last usually 3-5 minutes I think. As far as I know, nothing I do makes them stop or appear.
