My son will be 1 in September and I'm already starting to get questions about what he would like. Any suggestions for good first birthday gifts?

Glad you asked. LO's bday is in less than 3 weeks and I have yet to come up with something!

The two big things we got that she loves and I already see will get a lot of use are her KidKraft kitchen (Vintage, white) and her Joovy tricycle - orange.
She got some small things and I like the little people toy the most out of all of them.
Balls are great, anything with balls. Also, do you need clothes? Pj's? Rompers? Clothes for Fall? Maybe think about asking for 18mo clothes?
I wish we had gotten some musical instruments. I'm going to look for some at the consignment sale that is happening this week - a tambourine, piano, drum and maracas would be fun!

There was a bee who posted a slew of cool 1st bday gifts. I think there was a survey attached. I can't find it, but if you can there were a ton of great gift ideas.

LO just turned 1. The toy that was the biggest hit was the Pewi Y-bike and a water table (but might not be as good for an autumn birthday). She also got some megablocks that she's kind of into, but I think as she gets a little older they will become more popular.

@mamabolt: I was just talking about the water table today and how much he would love it. We're in the northeast, so September is probably a bit late for that, but I'm thinking it's a definite for Christmas!
