I know 6 months isn't exactly a huge amount of time, but as DD was conceived the 2nd cycle, I'm starting to wonder if there might be something going on this time that is preventing me from getting pregnant as quick.
Just wondering if there were others out there who took a while but still conceived without intervention?

It took us just under 2 years. I used naturopathic remedies to help with my PCOS, but no specific fertility interventions.

One year for my first and 9m for my second. No interventions. I'm just not a fertile myrtle.

Well, it took us 13 cycles to get pregnant with E, but I had two losses in that time. I was using OPKs and charting, and we had made an appointment to start getting some testing in Jan. I got pregnant with E mid-Nov.

Not me but my friend was in the same boat as you- her first happened on the first try. They had to try for about 7 months, but with slightly longer cycles, for their second. She's 22 weeks pregnant now.

I got pregnant on our sixth cycle, but we had found out early on that DH has an awful sperm count/quality, so we were anticipating needing interventions. FWIW, my RE said when men have low sperm parameters, it often goes undiagnosed at first, as their partners often don't have too much trouble getting pregnant with their first kid/while they're under 30. They said they see a lot of secondary infertility when couples are trying for baby #2 or #3 in their 30s, since the female partner isn't as capable of compensating for crappy sperm.

7 months for #2, but had a missed miscarriage. Conceived DD the 1st month we got the clear to start TTC again.

DS was an oops so I figured we would get pregnant our first month TTC. I'll admit our timing sucked, but it took us 6 months to get pregnant with DD. What worked for us was DTD every day of the fertile period. Before DH wanted to just DTD a few times and our timing always sucked because he only wants to DTD on the weekend. So, what worked for us was lots and lots of DTD.

For LO1 we conceived first try, mc'd, then conceived DD 2 cycles after that. So we got pregnant twice in 3 tries.
For LO2, all told it's been about 11 months with one miscarriage around the 6-7ish month mark. Hoping this one sticks (8 weeks today). I totally assumed we'd have no trouble since it happened so quickly the first time

We tried for nearly a year. I do have PCOS but didn't need any treatments, just had less cycles and made it a little harder for me to understand how things worked for me. If we try for a second I'll expect it to take at least as long but will try to be more patient!

@illumina: 7 cycles/10 months plus a few ntnp so all in all about a year. (Had to skip a couple for medical reasons.) And our first was conceived on one try. I struggled with the whole idea of the age gap and just the idea that our first was so easy, thinking something must have changed and it wasn't going to happen. The cycle before I got pregnant my OB did an ultrasound and blood test to check hormone levels, and said everything looked ok and I was totally confused. I hope you don't have to wait much longer!

Oh, and I don't know if this makes a difference but I think the wondfo opks were giving me different results than the frer brand opks.. The month I switched over there seemed to be a couple days difference and I went by the frer.

It took 3 cycles with LO#1, got KU my first cycle trying for #2 but lost that baby at 12 weeks. Then it took a year to get pregnant again, but it happened without intervention. I was worried because I was already 35 but my OB said sometimes it just takes longer at that age. I am now nursing that baby!
Good luck--it is such a roller coaster ride.

LO #2... 8 months then a mc at 7 weeks then 13 months and he's now 3 months old 
secondary infertility is much more common than I ever thought.. and I was super surprised at the number of women I know that had a miscarriage with their second pregnancy at least 5 women I know had one

For #1, it took a year and eventually got pregnant on our own.
For #2, still trying and it's been 25 months. We are proceeding with IVF and set to begin that process in October with a retrieval and transfer in November.

@illumina: thank you for posting this. We are going on month 6 with no know issues and it's hard to not get sad and frustrated even though 6 months isn't that long in hindsight 
I may be over sensitive though, I got my period yesterday and my SIL announced #2 about an hour later.

We only had one unsuccessful cycle so far (no sticky baby yet), but one of my very good friends tried for a while. She got pregnant on the 12th cycle without any interventions. She is due in November. There is hope!

9 months for first pregnancy, which ended in an early miscarriage. 5 more months to conceive my daughter (16 months old!). This time I got pregnant on the first try, much to our surprise!
Eta: when I had my blood work up during my pregnancy with my daughter I discovered I was severely vitamin d deficient. I've been taking a supplement since then, and have learned that vit d deficiency can cause fertility problems.

@illumina: we TTC about 9ish months or so for my first. My second we were super lax about and barely tracking but it did take some time before actually getting a bfp. Good luck!

LO1 was a surprise.
LO2 it took 15 months to conceive, I had a miscarriage in month 12. I was about to be referred to a fertility clinic for tests when I got my sticky baby.

12 cycles and over 1 year with an early MC during cycle 6, and 2 CP's around cycle 9 and 11. Currently I'm 12 weeks and keeping my FX really hard that this is my rainbow baby.

12 months, no interventions, no abnormal test results and no miscarriages. And we were charting. Sometimes it just takes a long time.

With LO it took 7 months (5 long cycles) but a few of them were NTNP and looking back we were always trying way out of the fertile window for the first few cycles. When we started TTC for LO2, we got BFP on first cycle trying. Unfortunately that ended in a missed MC, so we are back on TTC wagon so praying it doesn't take too long after this!

2 years, probably about 18-20 cycles (mine were long). We did try different things with the support of an acupuncturist, such as herbal medicine, diet change, and yoga for fertility. But we didn't use western medical intervention.

Three years for LO 1 & 2 but started IUIs at the one year mark and around 2.5 years started IVF.
As much as I wanted a pregnancy without intervention, my 6 failed IUIs told me that it wasn't happening for us.
Having our IVF twins in our arms makes me sorta forget our long journey. So happy to have them.

Wow, this surprisingly made me feel a lot better after reading the responses. LO#1 was conceived in the first month. For LO#2, this is our 10th cycle of trying with a miscarriage at a 7 weeks from that 5th cycle. We foolishly assumed that the second one would be that easy and the first one really skewed my perception of what is a normal time for this process to take. Reading these responses is really helping give me perspective (& hope).

Nope. This month is one year and ten months. I have no idea why it's not happening. Everyone around me is pregnant. (Or so it seems).
I'm throwing myself a pity party for 1 today.

12 months of actively trying, and I got pregnant the month we started fertility testing, and the cycle I had a HSG.
