Okay so today my sister had a reveal party. For one I wasn't invited. My dad forced her to invite me. My second point is that she refuses to keep the baby if it's a girl. Luckily it's a boy but still her refusal of a girl finds me absolutely flabbergasted. How would you feel going to a party and hearing "if it's a girl I don't want it! I don't want a girl at all"?

Let's just say I have had people in my life repeatedly tell me we should try for a third and if it's a girl just abort it. I flipped the f out when I was told this. The persons response? "Everyone" does it because why would you support three girls??? What are you going to do? Keep having kids till you get a boy?
I was beyond disgusted and said those people shouldn't have a child then. Disgusting. And infuriating. -

Ummmm...I don't even know how to process this. Usually, people have gender reveal parties as a lighthearted way to celebrate the gender-- what ever it might be. If I understand correctly, your sister had a let's--see-if-I-should-keep-it party. I am at a loss and I hope for dear life that your sister is done having children after this little boy.

If she found out the gender she had to be about halfway through her pregnancy, right? Don't you have to have a medical reason to abort after 20 weeks?
That's where I draw a line in the sand concerning abortion. So, so wrong.

I have heard at least two people joke about giving their babies away (one was if it was a girl--she had a tense relationship with her mom and her mom with her grandma, and the other was my aunt joking that my cousin would give her boy to me). I think those are the weirdest jokes to make. I don't get how that's even a smidge funny.

I think if she plans to give a girl baby up for adoption or abort, it's too bad she's having a child at all because she clearly has no business having children of any gender.

@maybebaby: more like she wanted to make her mom adopt it if it was a girl. Her mom seemed completely okay with it!

@Mrs. Pen: It varies from state to state, but for many (most?), yes, you need a medical reason that late.
This is all very wtf. Knowing she's 17 does maybe explain it a little, but it does not excuse it.

I think it's pretty obvious how most people would feel about this. Sorry but I think it's really wrong to put her on blast online for a bunch of strangers who have no idea what she is going through to judge her.

I'm not sure I know how to respond to that... I mean, yes, I I dealt with gender disappointment both times... but I never in my life could say I wouldn't want my child.

That would have been one awkward reveal party if the results were different.
I wouldn't have gone in the first place so I wouldn't have to e involved in such weird drama.

I really hope she isn't one of the people who finds out at birth that the doctors were wrong. This is so sad. As many of us would love to be pregnant with any healthy baby, regardless of gender, stories like these are heartbreaking.
