My LO liked a paci for.. a week and then acted like it was poisonous. We introduced a lovey around 4 months and he sucked on that, and then his thumb when I put him in his crib. So no tips just empathy!

@Smurfette: Yeah that's a long time. That's how long we're taking for naps these days.. Yay, sleep regression.

If you haven't already, try MAM pacifiers. A friend told me about them and how most of the babies in the nursery at church used MAM. Sure enough, it was a winner for C.

I wish I knew how. Lots of nights we nurse to sleep because I'm just too tired and it is the easiest way.

I keep trying to pop one in his mouth, but he won't suck it and it just falls out.

And I know he can suck on things, he lives sucking his knuckles and arms.

My LO won't take a paci consistently. Nuk. Smoothies. Mam and gumdrops!

@Smurfette: Have you tried a Wubbanub? If she likes to suck but just can't keep the paci in this may help. B wouldn't keep his paci in until we got our first Wubby and now we have a whole collection. He loves them.

P won't take a paci (weaned herself around 7 months). I just nurse her to sleep.... these days alot of times when she's done she'll start motioning to roll onto her side of the bed. I never pressed it though.

@Smurfette: Yes, we did! I no cry sleep solution, let me know if you have any questions. I rocked, not nursed, to sleep and seriously could not even wrap my head around what our nights look like these days (quiet, peaceful, easy). Like you, we figured in the long run it was easier to not have to wean from a paci but in the moment... we would've done anything for him to take it!

Are you sending a pacifier to daycare? LO's daycare asked that we send one tomorrow even though we've never been able to get her to take it. Maybe that will be another habit LO picks up at daycare. We'll be sending the MAM.

I can't remember when we convinced DD to love the pacifier, but it definitely took time. We decided to keep at it, and now at 15 months our daughter is totally addicted to the pacifier. We also ultimately really liked MAM pacifiers. Those are the ones that stuck.
