If you or your SO went back to school on the GI Bill. How long did it take for you to get your first living stipend check? How long after classes started?

Honestly, I can't remember when exactly in the month we got the money, but we got the living stipend and book money the month he started school and the school got his tuition money directly. I'll ask DH when I get home.

Yikes, can't remember exactly. Probably within 2 months!

DH says we got paid at the end of the month retroactively for the previous month - sorta like when you start a new job. But the nice part was we got one more check after school was over.

Didn't do this when I'w as married, but used the benefit from my dad's service for undergrad. I think it only took 6-8 weeks? It was pretty fast once we got the paperwork in.
