This older guy I know asked me when I was due, and when I told him February and that I'm 5 months along, his eyes bugged out and he said, "wow, are you having twins?"
I wanted to sock him in the face. Seriously, am I really that big??

When I get that, I'm going to reply -
"No, actually it's quadruplets and I've had a very hard time putting on weight and that comment is so hurtful because I'm doing my best to eat enough, ok?!?!"
And watch their eyes widen in shock.... heh -

Seriously, people suck. I just had someone tell me the baby is ready to pop out. I'm 25 weeks. I was like, "Uh, no, he's not. He's got another 3 months in there!"

Some people just don't have a clue as to what's rude and what's not =P But, I will say though that until I had close friends that got pregnant, I really had no idea how much a belly really grew!

Heck no lady! We're about the same size altho I haven't had any strangers comment on my bump yet. I believe it's partly bc i was chubby to begin with and people with sense know it's better not to say something unless ur really sure.... Sorry that man was so rude and obviously has no sense.

And fwiw, the twin mamas I've seen around here don't even look that different from the singleton mommas! That has really stood out to me when I look at their bump pics and they don't look very much bigger than I did at a similar stage! So I don't even know that I buy that twin moms are supposed to be HUGE, and so it makes me think that comments like his are that much more ignorant!
But regardless, you look perfect for 5 months! Your bump is adorable, and not looking large at all!!!!

Yeah, then he told me that every time he saw the wife of a mutual acquaintance of ours -- who just had a little boy a few weeks ago -- that she still had a month to go and he'd be like wow, it looks like it's going to pop out at any minute! So he obv has a history of putting his foot in his mouth.

People can be rude! My FIL always made comments like that throughout my pregnancy.

No! people are so rude- i've started getting the "whoa you are big" from some folks. I hate it! One lady said "you are getting a pudge" and I wanted to say "no, I am growing a baby. YOU are getting a pudge" .

I feel like people don't have much of an understanding of what a pregnant belly actually looks like at different stages of pregnancy (I know I didn't until I started looking at bump photos and am now experiencing it myself!).
That being said, there's no excuse for this guy it sounds like. I think you look beautiful and right on track
